I think I'm more in shock that you haven't checked out Y&T or Enchant yet than the fact that I'm on the cutting line.

Yeah, I cannot believe Y&T was accepted. Must  be some sort of special deal with The Big Guy.
Maybe I'll send in some Dokken next round! ;D

No deal... just not a band I'd ever gotten around to.  And as Coz found out in my first roulette, neither was Dokken.  Although, Dokken was Coz's final submission back then (ie, he lost with it).  And Enchant... just always ended up being "later" as to when I'd get around to checking them out in depth.

btw, jingle, if I get through, what's your tolerance for ridiculously over-the-top power metal? I've got a couple of things I want to try...

Well, I have the discography of both Freedom Call and Rhapsody (of, and not of, Fire), and still spin them with some regularity.  If those two aren't "ridiculously over-the-top power metal", I don't know what is.

Why do people have to equate indie with shit?  Independent music can be good.  This just wasn't it - for me.

Dead Letter Circus/Lodestar - Liked the vocals plenty; nice smooth break in the middle.  The vocal delivery reminds me a lot of the Elysion song that ultimately bumped you to 2nd place in my first roulette.  Not sure why you were so worried.

Not sure who this band is as that wasn't a song from me, but nevertheless I thought the song may have been a bit too alternate for you, besides the melodies being incredible.  Glad you liked it.  I think something pretty strong and safe next.

Props to the other player who submitted Voyager, another great Aussie band.  I hope you get through, they are a quality band.

Oh, and final results later this morning.  Nasty ice storm here - about 1/2 an inch on everything.  Tree limbs down everywhere, and we lost power (again) for a few hours. Bound to lose it again

That sucks.  We got lucky and the freeze line is about 30 miles north of us.  No sweat.  Life is more important the this roulette.

So what happens now? I've been eleminated, so would I have to wait until a third roulette?

Also, do you like Power Metal at all? Obviously Touchstone isn't your thing 'cause you're a huge wanker, but I have another band in mind if you're into Power Metal.

In:  :2metal:
bosk1: Y&T/Forever
Big Hath: Bride/Everybody Knows My Name
Nekov: Subsignal/Where Angels Fear to Tread
kirksnosehair: Silent Voices/Into the Flow
Dr. DTVT: Enchant/Paint the Picture
wolfking: Dead Letter Circus/Lodestar
lowdz: Tyketto/Forever Young
elefantStone: Disillusion/Fall
TAC: Constantine/The Broken Remain
Bolsters: Thunderstone/Ghosts of Youth
Out :gandalf:
Prog Snob: The Quest/Turn Away
adace: Hell/Darkhangel
lolzeez: Tame Impala/Elephant

Cut line
Shadow Ninja 2.0: Voyager/Lost
kingshmegland: The Panic Channel/Left to Lose
Elite: The Ocean/Hadopelagic II: Let Them Believe
lonestar: OmnisighT/Eleven
jjrock88: DC Cooper/The Angel Comes
For all of the above tracks, there was more of this that I liked, than I didn’t.  Come on in to Round 2.  :panicattack:
For the below, :curtains:

Zydar: 10cc/Art for Art's sake – sorry... I’ll probably continue to listen to this, and eventually think exactly as I did with Gloria... super fun tune, and I feel bad for scoring it low.
SirGuitarCozmo: Smithereens/Behind the Wall of Sleep – Good track, just there was a lot more that was better.
senecadawg2: Coheed and Cambria/Welcome Home – you’re forgiven, but this tune wasn’t up to snuff.

Which leaves us with zook: Touchstone/The Witness (Pts 1 & 2)
I hear greatness in this song, and I am very intrigued by Touchstone.  The song itself will probably sound better with age.  So for that, you get a second chance.

To those that were on the cut line... you’ve got a bit of a hole to dig out of.  At most, 10 will participate in the main competition, and the competition is stiffer than grandpa with an empty bottle of Cialis.  You really need to wow me, or hope that one of the other tend lays a steamy turd this round.

Round 2 is open for business.  As I mentioned originally, due to holidays and such, results will be posted no later than Jan 4th... but if you're all as prompt as you were first round, earlier.
