Another really strong round from you guys! Although not quite as much as last.
adace:
Scar Symmetry - MorphogenesisI am slightly familiar with Scar Symmetry. I have a friend who likes them a fair bit, but never listened to a lot of their stuff myself. I think this is the song he showed me, but that was years ago, heh. This song is pretty decent. The chorus is fairly catchy, and I really loved the sudden burst of heaviness at like 2:32. A pretty strong tune.
7/10Lucien:
Rush - Clockwork AngelsAha! Here's a band I bet some of you expected to be forbidden.
Reason being I've only really heard much of a few of their albums and while I think they're pretty good, I never explored much because I didn't think they were as great as what everyone said. This is my first taste of the new Rush. My judgement, they actually did a very good job of modernizing their sound a bit while retaining the old Rush feel. This song has a heavy, almost metallic feeling to it, and I'm loving the aggressive bass tone throughout (which I've always deemed a strong point of their work). Maybe I'll listen to this album, as it's a nice sound. I still have my problem of not really liking Geddy's voice too much, but he doesn't really harm the song too much.
8/10Dark Castle:
MS MR - HurricaneHaha, funny thing this. The day after you sent this (I hadn't listened yet), my mom had the TV on the music playing channels and it came up. I instantly said "Hey, I'm supposed to be listening to this one!" and turned it up. She thought it was silly.
Anyways, a high point of this one for me is the production. I really like it. It makes a poppish song have a nice atmospheric quality to it. I could see myself listening to this in one of my chill moods for sure. Nice one. Better than your original choice I'd say.
7.5/10Shadow Ninja 2.0:
Voyager - Iron Dream (In Memoriam Peter Steele)A tribute to Peter Steele? Interesting. This one didn't really grab me first listen. I don't know why because there isn't much to it. The next listen I found myself tapping my foot along, so I suppose that's a good sign.
The band has an interesting sound. Proggy, yet has a nice, catchy beat to it. A strong chorus as well, definitely what I was looking for this theme. Well done!
8.5/10elefantStone:
Johnossi - Dead EndI see lots of comments saying this sounds like When You Were Young by The Killers. Similar chord progression, but I don't hear it otherwise. The riff itself is kind of oddly timed, but that's not a problem. I like the one guitar with an almost spacey tone to it. It's also decently catchy. I wasn't super moved by this one throughout the entirety, but it follows the theme and has its strong points.
7/10senecadawg2:
Arctic Monkeys - When the Sun Goes DownDamn, that's a heavy accent.
Here's a band I've been recommended a bit but never really tried out. I like when it really gets going a lot, and how it sort of ends the way it begins. Another one that didn't click with me at first, but I really liked afterwards. Maybe I'll check 'em out.
8/10Lolzeez:
Foxygen - San FranciscoGolly gee, what is it with me and always preferring Beatles soundalikes to The Beatles themselves? I've never liked The Beatles a lot, although I do think Revolver is a great album. But the soundalikes always seem more enjoyable to me. This is no exception. Not even close to an exception. I can't put my finger on why, but I liked this song A LOT from the first listen. I downloaded the album even. It's not original or anything, it's just a really strong tune. Got stuck in my head from the first listen. Way to exemplify the round.
9.5/10Tyrias:
Guro von Germeten - Fa Fa (Come Stand Before Me)You have a very interesting taste in music.
I'm enjoying your sends, as they surprise me. This one is catchy itself. I'm loving the different instruments used, and she has a certain charismatic chanteuse feel to her voice that pulls me in. I don't have much more to say, but it's a cool tune!
8.5/10Outcrier:
Del Shannon - RunawayWasn't expecting anything like this to pop up, but it's great. It has a pretty neat sound for its time. I don't listen to much music from the early 60s aside from jazz, so I was pretty interested in this one. It's a very strong pop song, with a neat keyboard solo. Definitely enjoyed this from first listen, and enjoy it now. Neat-o.

ROUND 3: Something strange. I love strange music. I'm not too strict on the terms of strangeness. Could be strange melodically, or just plain messed up. Just something that comes to mind when you think of strange.
