Well, I never do extreme vocals, nor do I listen to much, so I honestly don't know what the hell I was doing, but it turned out pretty cool, I think. Not gonna do that again for a while though, holy throat pain, Batman!

Wow. Black metal DT, I like it :tup
I have to take a chance and participate in this round because I have zero singing range :P I'll try something tomorrow, maybe.

I never opened this thread because it didn't seem interesting, but it was hella fun listening through some of these, thanks participants.  :tup

Yeah, that's definitely a recurring theme for me too. "This is gonna be fun, I can't wait to record it." 2 months later, "Oh yeah, this thread..."

Aside from my mic being either my phone or a webcam, I'd like to participate sometime if this ever starts again.

This round is still "fresh", some of them lasts for months before the last round winner somehow remember he needs to announce new winner :lol
Still, I never participated. It's not that I sing well but this is fun ::)

I haven't forgotten - I still get email notifications when this thread updates! It's just that I like to wait for the people who say that they'll do one.

I guess it's been long enough though, TheGreatPretender wins!

Yaay! So I didn't torture my vocal cords for nothing!

All righty, the next line will be....

"Innocent victims of merciless crimes
Fall prey to some madmen's impulsive designs
Step after step
We try controlling our fate
When we finally start living it has become too late
Trapped inside this Octavarium
Trapped inside this Octavarium
Trapped inside this Octavarium
Trapped inside this Octavarium"
"How's that for a slice of fried gold?"

Are you allowing multitrack vocals, or just one vocal line?

Speaking of vocal cord torture...

https://vocaroo.com/i/s00XELpn0PrU

The low bitrate of vocaroo obscures some of the multitracks, but I tried to do as many as possible, including a talky track, whisper track, shouty track, and shrieky track.

That's a C6, by the way. Hope you enjoy!

That sounds more like you're trapped inside a pentagram and ended up possessed by the devil as a result.
Awesome job, man!

Man, I wanted to try this, but I'm a bass with zero technique and doing the 'Trapped inside this octavarium' screaming/shouting bit is just too much  :lol Maybe I'll participate next time if there's less screaming involved

All right! Let's breathe some new life into this thread. In light of the new album fast approaching here's what I want to hear from you guys!

My friends have seen the chosen one, the quest for freedom has begun,
He will be the answer to our prayers"

I'm really getting into this thing of singing, as my band's (now ex-) vocalist got out and I'm replacing him while recording our first work. Tomorrow I'll record the referred bit of TGoM!

Just getting over a flu so was fighting back a cough while I was singing, as a result I really couldn't put any power or conviction into it... Oh well!

I'm not a singer, but this is a really fun thread
I get a bit loud near the end, sorry about that, make sure not to listen very loud :P
Singing the instrumental sections would be fun as hell as well

Why is no one using auto-tune for "Time"? Come on.

Because, unlike James Labrie, they don't need it.

Sounds kinda like something Jethro Tull would do. It's really good.
