Sounds kinda like something Jethro Tull would do. It's really good.

:omg: Evoking Jethro Tull connections is something new for me but it's definitely an honor, thanks!

Why is no one using auto-tune for "Time"? Come on.

I've seen people talk about this, but never actually bothered to check and carefully listen to that part until now. Can't unhear it now. Oh my God  :lol
Seasons change and so can I

One week left guys! I'm super excited! So yeah, lots of entries this time around, and I'm super happy about that!

Cool pefrormances all around, guys! The usual suspects turning in great stuff as expected, and everyone who's submitting for the first time, cool stuff, hope to hear more!

Nefarius, really, really awesome job. Damn you and your musical prowess!

But just to make things more fun, the winner is Metropolaris. Bassist or not, I really liked your performance, as well as your flub, haha. Is this your first submission? Go ahead and pick the next one!

Thank you kindly! I think I'll stick to backup vocals though.
And yes, that was my first submission

As for the next line, how about the chorus to Solitary Shell?

"He's a Monday morning lunatic
Disturbed from time to time
Lost within himself
In his solitary shell

A temporary catatonic
Madman on occasion
When will he break out
Of his solitary shell"

I'll post mine later. I'm a bit under the weather today

Alright, scratch that because the chorus is a bit out my range  :lol Feel free to post your own versions though

I decided to give the prechorus a try instead

I got a new microphone so I decided to go crazy, record my own backing guitar track, and add a bunch of harmonies... I probably overdid it, but I think it sounds cool.

I wanted to take it down the octave, but I also wanted to attempt the original octave, so I went half and half.

D - D/F# - G - D - Bm - Bm/A - E/G# - A

Cool stuff guys!

I just went for the straight forward original version, except I went a little James Hetfield at the end there.  :lol

I tried this today, but it didn't work out. I'm still suffering from a bad cold and it's too high anyway. Tried an octave lower but my voice wouldn't cooperate and it sounded horrible. Oh well.

Awesome, thanks! Note to self, submit more entries when drunk, hahah.

All right, I'm still pretty high on The Astonishing, so let's go with:

"Please excuse me. Sir can you help me? Where can I find this man?
Sorry, can't speak. Someone is waiting.
Yes, I understand."

Man, your voice sounds to me a bit like my own mid-range... Kinda spooky.

I hope to see a few more submissions!

I think you and Ad134 have pretty similar timbre, I usually can't tell who is who :D
And I thought that line from Ravenskill will be easier to sing but it is really weird, I'm not big fan of it (and I love many vocal melodies on TA).

Very nice line selection! More difficult than it appears to be at first but lots of fun. I'm just not used to that breathy style at all.
I hope I got the spooky factor right though.

Thanks heaps for that Nef!

Next up is a section from A Change Of Seasons:

I'm sick of all
You hypocrites
Holding me at bay
And I don't need
your sympathy
to get me through the day

Seasons change
And so can I
Hold on boy
No time to cry
Untie these strings
I'm climbing down
I won't let them push me away

Bonus points go to anyone who can sing it in the original octave and key in full voice, but this is not a requirement by any means.

Happy singing! :metal
