Quote from: Chino on November 04, 2013, 11:52:11 AMI always thought the glass with the wires through it was bullet proof? At least that what a professor at WCSU told me. Not necessarily, no. The wire makes it shatter proof--i.e., if something smashes into it, it cracks and breaks, but you don't get huge shards of glass flying everywhere. That wouldn't stop a bullet from going throught it. Also, "bullet proof" glass has its limits. How bullet proof it is is dependent on its rating, and is no guarantee that it will stop certain types of rounds fired by certain types of guns. I don't know the specifics, but am just saying that "bullet proof" doesn't necessarily mean you are 100% safe.

prog sucks
How strange...the SWAT team is there, there's a decked out gunman in body armor...but there's been no violence yet, and everyone is just taking their time. You'd think they'd have the guy at this point.
My friends have been sending me snaps for the past hour or so. Stay safe, Chino.

If you look at the pic I posted a few posts back, the building is in the shape of a + sign. The image isn't a proper representation. Each wing has probably 4 or 5 rooms on each side, and I believe it's 8 or 9 floors high (maybe more). It's in the dorm section of campus so I don't frequent it as a commuter. I spent two nights there about a year ago, and it's a fairly large building. If they are searching room by room, it's definitely going to take a while. I really hope it's not a hostage situation. All classes suspended for the rest of the day.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.
Suspect(s) in custody. We were released and now I'm stuck in traffic as 12k students try to leave. No one was hurt as far as I know.
Yikes, stay safe man, and don't be like that idiot in the comments."Should we try and come to class?"Seriously?I mean Seriously!?
