Along for the ride
« on: September 27, 2013, 06:26:34 AM »
I think this song deserves its own thread. One of the sweetest songs they ever recorded.  :metal
From the ocean comes the notion that the realise lies in rhythm. The rhythm of vision is dancer, and when you dance you´re always on the one. From the looking comes to see, wondrous realise real eyes....

For me it is the dessert of the album (and easter egg being the digestive tea)

Thought it was a good track when I heard it before the album came out, but it didnt do all that much for me.

Within the context of the album it's much stronger, and I love where it's placed in the tracklisting..the calm before the storm.

A decent song, no doubt, but when the rest of the album is awesome, it becomes the worst on it.

Yes, this is probably the only song that is not doing it for me.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Glorious.

One word: amazing

I love every second of this song, and the lyrics are some of JP's very best, even though the message is pretty basic :tup

Great verses, but the chorus feels a little out of place to me. Still a good song though!

It's a great song indeed, by far their best ballad since I don't know how long. I have a feeling it's going to be huge live.

Funny you chose that part, JP's little flutter under "clarity on the horizon" is one of my favorite bits and stood out even during the first listen.

Probably my second favourite on DT12. I'm really really glad I didn't listen to it before the album release. The chorus is one of their most memorable ever.

Weakest song on the album for me.  But in the context of the album, it works pretty well.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

Least favorite of DT12, but that doesn't mean it's a bad song. It just so happens that the rest of the album is so much better.

Wasn't my favorite at the beginning at all but now it's amazing song and I love the lyrics as well as the music. Last three songs on DT12 are a perfect run for me.

Wish it got a better chorus. The drum sound doesn't really work on the song and brings it down a bit.

Still one of the better DT ballads, though it doesn't have shit on This Is The Life  :metal

It's funny, at first I didn't think the song was interesting at all - too slow and boring. But I guess it secretly planted a parasite in my brain and now I enjoy it. Especially the guitar part that starts at 1:20 <3

At first when I heard it, I was honestly very disappointed. I loved the intro and verses, but for some reason I wasn't feeling the chorus.

But after the album came out, for some reason I started to like it much better.

Absolutely love JR's solo now too, regardless of its similarity to BTS.

Definitely a great song.

Almost the same for me, actually - I liked it at first, then I found it boring, but then as I listened to the album more and more, I've grown fond of it. It's a much needed breather after the amazing 1-2-3 punch prior to it, and before the closing epic.

Best song on the album and the best "ballady" type song they've done in years

I still like this song, but the line "Finding hope in our hopeless lives" has started to bug me a bit :lol Would it have been too hard to replace the first "hope" with some other word?

I like everything except in the song except the chorus. It works in terms of album placement, but it just sounds forced and sappy and generic to me. The rest of the song, the verses, the bridge, the solos; all great.

One of my bottom two songs from the album, along with TEI. It seems relatively uninspired for a DT song.

Whoa, the nighttime stars in the "Along for the Ride" video are in the shape of the majesty symbol!  How did I never notice this before?

Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

Love this song a lot! Can't say it is my favorite in an album full of great songs. But it is a top 3 probably! Love the lyrics as well!

Although, I have to say I'm really loving the keyboard solo section at the moment. The way that the keyboard melody and the bass are almost doing a kind of counterpoint is something we haven't really ever heard in DT music before.
