Songs sent! I hope it's alright, and that you will like the music.  :)

I must admit, I played with the idea of sending hip hop, since I have some that I really like, but I wussed out.

ROUND 4 RESULTS

Jingle.Boy: Glam Rock/Power Ballad

First song: Hardline - In The Hands Of Time

I don't mind Journey. I've never been too into them. Now,I was kinda afraid this was gonna be cheesy. But it wasn't. Thank god. The vocals are quite nice and the song has a cool flow. It's not really my cup of tea,but I'll keep the score high for taking a risk. Oh and yes,the solo was really awesome.

8/10

Second Song:  Whitesnake - Sailing Ships

I've never been a fan of this band. I liked a couple songs here and there but that was it. And guess what? This was one of the songs that I liked. It doesn't have the cheese that most 80s power ballads have which is great. Sadly,I do think that the first half drags. The second half kicks some major ass. Gee,you made a good choice for a Whitesnake song. :lol

8.5/10

I'll give you an 8.5/10 for this round. :tup

Senecadawg2: Progressive Metal

Song: Seventh Wonder - Unbreakable

Not gonna lie, that was a pretty sweet intro! Anyways, the first thing that catches my mind is how awesome the instruments support the vocalist's voice and it makes it sound much better. But still, every instrument sounds amazing here. After listening to this,I wanted to do a little research on this album. Found Milena's review on it and then I kept looking up some more reviews. Wow,how the heck have I never heard this before?!

9.5/10 DISCOVERY BABY!

Onno: Classical Music

Song:Tchaikovsky - 1812 Overture

I've heard this before. One of my father's friends is crazy about classical music and a multi instrumentalist. He makes drone music. He's that weird of a guy. Anyways, this was pretty neat. The cannons at the end scared the living piss out of me at 3:30 AM with headphones. That's okay. I saw Kikia back when it was new. I was like 9 years old. :lol Anyways this nice piece of music had some really epic ass moments. It's almost as if I'm a 7 year old playing with action figures. EPIC. So yeah, this is nice. But I just gotta be in the mood for classical music. That's why I might be a little biased about it. I'll give you a good score though just because you made me shout at 3:30 AM and wake my turtles up.

8/10

Dr.DTVT: Progressive Black Metal

1st song: Dimmu Borgir - Dimmu Borgir

Okay,I don't get it. It's trying to go for this "epic" vibe. But it just doesn't capture me. The vocals don't do anything for me. The guitar solo was pretty decent but nothing else really interested me. Sorry dude.

5/10

2nd Song: Enslaved - Death In The Eyes Of Dawn

Once again, the vocals did nothing for me. BUT the instrumental work was really good! Is there an instrumental version of this album? So yeah,I preferred this over the first song.

7/10

Which means you get a 6/10.

Elite: Classical Music

1st Song: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Requiem Mass in D Minor: Lacrimosa

This was quite nice. That's really all. But it went perfectly with the next song.

2nd Song: Ludwig Von Beethoven - Symphony No.5:Allegro Con Brio

I see what you did there! Lacrimosa worked really nice as an intro to this. This was quite epic without being too forced, something I see a lot in music.

3rd Song: Richard Wagner - Ride Of The Valkyries

For some reason,I felt like shouting "COWABUNGA!" during the entire song. Cause it was really epic. Seriously, you just gave me a suite. :lol Because all three of these songs flow perfectly. I didn't rank the songs individually but I'll give you a high score.

9/10

MoraWintersoul: Power Metal

1st Song: Sonata Arctica - White Pearl Black Oceans

Fine. Fine. I guess I'll have to check out Sonata Arctica. :lol This was really nice. And yeah, the lyrics were quite crushing. This was quite a treat from start to finish. There are some quite proggy moments too.  For example, somewhere around the 5 minute mark the piano compliments everything perfectly. So…DISCOVERY

9/10

2nd Song: Kamelot - Abandoned

I preferred the first song. The song at first didn't grab my attention but then the female vocals came in and the song got a little better with the roaring guitars and everything. Still,it didn't do too much for me.

7/10

Which means, an 8/10

Ruba: Symphonic Metal

Song: Nightwish - Beauty Of The Beast

You know, after so much "epic" stuff in this round,I got a little bored. And this sounded a little cheesy. The instrumental work was nice and all but nothing really made me go "Wow!". I know, this is probably one of the fan favorites. But I'm not too big into this stuff. I don't even know why I liked that Sonata Arctica track so much. So I guess either Milena used some magic on me or I should have given this more listens. (Only 4 listens for this one.)

7/10

Zantera: Electronic Rock or something like that

1st Song: Pendulum - The Tempest

Now for some reason,I can never get into Pendulum. Their music is quite nice but I just can't listen to it all the time if you know what I mean. The vocals were okay. I didn't mind them. The instrumentation was quite nice though. I could have never guessed that this would be such a good idea! Combining electronic music with rock. The song also had some proggy moments which was quite nice. I can safely say that this might be my favorite Pendulum song I've heard. It's very energetic and has a cool vibe to it.

9/10

2nd Song: Pure Reason Revolution - The Gloaming

This is some catchy shit. BUT it kinda drags. I got really tired of it around the 4 minute mark and I wasn't even halfway there! Still,I appreciated the groove of the song. This wasn't as rock oriented as Pendulum so I'm guessing that's why I preferred the Pendulum song. This just didn't do too much for me.

6/10

Which means…7.5/10

LieLowTheWantedMan: Avant Garde Metal

1st Song:Diablo Swing Orchestra - Honey Trap Aftermath

This was a very fun song. It had a really cool groove to it and I just loved it. That's basically what I think of most DSO tracks. I should really check out this band properly sometime.

9/10

2nd Song: Unexpect - Summoning Scenes

Some bands can be very quirky and fun like Mr. Bungle and some other bands can try to be quirky and it just comes off as forced to me. It took me so many tries to freaking finish this song. There is some parts that I enjoyed but I just don't get it. I'm sorry if I disappointed you.

5.5/10

So that means… like 7.5/10

Rattlehead: FUCKING HIP HOP

He sent me 3 hip hop songs. Oh god.

1st Song: A Tribe Called Quest - Award Tour

The beat was okay. For some reason,I had a big smile on my face throughout the entire song. I enjoyed it believe it or not. :lol

7/10

2nd Song: Jedi Mind Tricks - I Against I

YO DAWG THIS IS SUM BOOM BAP (Actual genre name.) SHIET RIGHT HERE BRUH.  :metal Okay um. I didn't mind it. It kinda faded in the background…

6/10

3rd Song: Luniz - I Got 5 On It

Bleh. I really didn't care for this. It kinda dragged and dragged… Oh and I think I might have heard this sometime on the radio before. Was this some popular single back in the day? So yeah. I got 5 on it too.

5/10

Which means 6+2=8 which means 8/10. Funny cause none of those songs got an 8. :lol
Thanks for taking a risk though. :tup

Scorpion:Piano Driven Rock

1st Song: Tori Amos - Winter

I remember someone sent me some other Tori Amos song. I think I gave it like a 7 out of 10. But let me get this clear. I prefer this over that song. And this song is way better. This reminded me of some epic Neil Young song like "Words" which is a good thing. I'll give this a high score but this isn't going on my discovery list since I'm not too big on this stuff unless it's Fiona Apple.

9/10

2nd Song:The Dresden Dolls - Delilah

The lyrics were nice and all but I kinda got bored. Like I said,I'm not too big on this stuff. So I'm not the person to send this stuff to. (Take notes people.) Sorry for a low score,I'm pretty sure some people love this and I can see why. I just don't think I can listen to this again and again. (Like I did now. I listened to most songs that you guys have sent like 5 times each.)

6/10

Which means you get a 7.5/10

?: Doom Metal

1st Song: KYPCK - After

Wow.. This is some weird stuff. The riff is alright and all but I don't know. I just don't "get" it I guess. It didn't keep my interest too much and that's kinda why I only listened to it 4 times instead of the regular 5 times I listen to most songs.

6/10

2nd Song: October Tide - 12 Days Of Rain

I've never been to big on Rankse's growls. In fact,I really like his cleans. I quite like the direction Katatonia took with some of their newer albums. But I still don't mind albums like Brave Murder Day. This reminded me of Brave Murder Day which was a treat. The riffs are really cool and overall, I really enjoyed the song. It's just Renkse's growls that I'm not a big fan of.

8/10

Which leaves you with a 7/10.

Nekov: Waiting for resend cause I lost the mp3 files. Sorry man,I remember really liking the stuff though :tup

Nope I didn't.

Nekov: Indie Rock

1st Song: The Radio Dept. - Heaven's On Fire

WOAH! Is that Thurston Moore in the intro? Cool! Anyways, this is some indie rock song crossed with some nice shoegaze. There is a little loop in the background which doesn't really bother me in fact,I like it. It adds some nice detail to the song. Later in the song, there are some horns which are pretty neat. This was quite a treat!

8.5/10 (Thanks to Thuston Moore I added an extra 0.5)

2nd Song: Pinback - Fortress

This was alright. It is quite catchy but it's not too interesting musically. The chorus is simple but quite effective. Besides that, there is not much to say really.

6.5/10

3rd Song: Frightened Rabbit - Holy

This is pretty nice. It's like a folkier version of Arcade Fire. I don't like it as much as Arcade Fire but this song was quite nice and has a pretty nice chorus. Not much to say honestly.

7.5/10

So I guess your average score is 7.5/10 which puts you on the 8th place.

ROUND 5 THEME

Now there were many "epic" songs in this round. I want you guys to basically send me an epic song…

UNDER 3 MINUTES.  :rollin

Yes,it can be anything. It can be some really long fart or classical music that makes my head explode. In fact, screw it. Classical Music is BANNED for this round. Cause I know there are some really epic classical music under 3 minutes. You will get bonus points if the song is a Progressive Rock/Metal song. (Yeah,I don't think there are any epic prog songs under 3 minutes :lol)

Don't forget! You CAN send something outside the theme but your song will be rated out of 5 instead of the usual 10. Now,get your short skirt japanese anime chicks and a Chuck Norris action figurrrrrrrr. It's time to get epic!

PS:Please no cheesy anime songs. I'm not even that big on anime even though my friends are literally forcing me into some Neon Genesis Evangelion. Ah well.
