Inspectah Deck's verse on the Wu Tang Clan song Triumph gets my vote for best rap verse of all time:

I bomb atomically, Socrates' philosophies
and hypotheses can't define how I be droppin’ these
mockeries, lyrically perform armed robbery
Flee with the lottery, possibly they spotted me
Battle-scarred shogun, explosion when my pen hits
tremendous, ultra-violet shine blind forensics
I inspect view, through the future see millennium
Killa B's sold fifty gold sixty platinum
Shacklin’ the masses with drastic rap tactics
Graphic displays melt the steel like blacksmiths
Black Wu jackets queen B's ease the guns in
Rumble with patrolmen, tear gas laced the function
Heads by the score take flight incite a war
Chicks hit the floor, diehard fans demand more
Behold the bold soldier, control the globe slowly
Proceeds to blow swingin’ swords like Shinobi
Stomp grounds and pound footprints in solid rock
Wu got it locked, performin’ live on your hottest block

That's some cool lyric-age there :coolio

Shame that ODB wasn't given a proper verse on it.

Really cool album. I recommend. Genres are: IDM, Electronic, Glitch Hop, Instrumental Hip Hop, Jazz

There weren't enough hip-hop fans posting in my recommendation thread, so I'm invading this one.

Looking for more albums to get. Here's the artists I own albums from (along with the album I have):

Atmosphere (When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold)
A Tribe Called Quest (The Low End Theory)
CunninLynguists (A Piece Of Strange)
Immortal Technique (Revolutionary Vol. 1 & 2)
Jedi Mind Tricks (Servants In Heaven, Kings In Hell & A History Of Violence)
Tech N9ne (K.O.D)
Wu-Tang Clan (Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers))

I really like them all, what albums from the above artists should I get next? Feel free to recommend other groups as well.

My brother just said the following, "All rappers are worthless because rapping is the only talent they have.  They're also uncivilized."

I gave him the example of Will Smith, to which he said, "He's not useless, because he became civilized."

Tell me that isn't pretentious bullshit.

There's this one song I wish I could remember even one thing about it, I heard it six years ago in a friend's car and never heard about it again. It was the last track on the album as I recall, and was sort of like a hip-hop "band" sorta like Wu-Tang or Nappy Roots. It was one of those final tracks that was followed by a long silence and then a secret song.  The secret song was of one of the guys I think he was either part of the band or one of the studio people, who came across the studio late at night and decided to throw down some lines of his own. The only thing I remember was the last line, in which the band found him the next morning and he said to them, "Man, don't go in there for like...45 minutes..." at which point there was a fade-out echo and the album ended. I wish I could remember anything else, because I wanna find this song/group really badly. Anyone have a clue about any track fitting this description?

Everyone, get your hands on Wyclef Jean's latest EP, "From The Hut, To The Projects, To The Mansion." It's a concept album telling a story of Toussaint Louverture, who was a leader in the Haitian revolution. The first track alone is worth the listen. Check this out.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHZSpfJ5s4w

EDIT: Correction, the character is based on Toussaint Louverture

Hip Hop challenge of the day:

Find a crazier album then ODB's Nigga Please. You can't.

ODB was hands down the worst member of the Wu Tang Clan. I'll never understand why people loved him so much. With the exception of U-God, the entire clan had great lyrics and incredible flow. ODB would just ramble and rant incoherently. He was pure shit.

I just realized this post contradicts an earlier post by me on this page. I'd like to clarify that while I don't like ODB, I think it's a shame he wasn't given a real verse on Triumph because all other 9 members had a verse on it. In other words, even though I don't like him, it would have been cool to have all 10 members on one track, as opposed to ODB doing an intro for the other 9 verses.
Gadough isn't Hitler. He's much, much worse.
