..... Because Zemeckis says no.

If it weren't for this, there's no doubt they'd have taken the opportunity to remake it.

Thank god they currently can't. I don't want to see it in my lifetime.

Nor me. Zemeckis is currently 63 years old.

If he lives to be 96 - i'll be 70 when the rights to the franchise revert to Universal. By then I probably won't care :lol

However - I *would* like to see it just to see how badly they fuck it up. The originals will always exist. There's enough copies of the Trilogy untouched too that if Universal decided

to go back and Lucas the fuck out of them - it wouldn't matter.

Same with Jaws. I'd love to see a remake purely for the schadenfreude of seeing how shit it is.

I can't imagine the amount of money they would throw at him to get him to change his mind. Thankfully he's very protective of the movies hence the reason he did the sequels to begin with.

If BTTF were to be revisited, I'd like to see it set hundreds of years in the future and somehow tie it back to doc. Getting centuries away from the original timeline should prevent the writers from trying to force too many references to the first films.

Anyone else here play the BTTF Telltale game? It used a lot of ideas that were thrown around for making a 4th movie, and it's really well written.

Unsurprisingly I had a dream that Chris Lloyd and MJ Fox were in a film together that was directed by Bob Zemeckis and it was nothing to do with BTTF :)

That would be better than a 4th BTTF. A brand new movie with the same cast & crew...

Was that the one with five episodes? I played the first episode (the free one). While the story was kind of cool, the gameplay was really lack luster.

ˇˇˇˇˇˇˇ THEORIES AND SPECULATION !!!!!!!

1. How did 2015 Biff return to "Prime" 2015 when he should have returned to "Alternate" 2015 ?

2. How did he die ? I always assumed he winded himself when he got out of the car and merely collapsed from that. Did he definitely die ?

Yeah, that's the one. Yes, the gameplay is really lackluster, but that's the style of all their games. It's basically a slightly interactive movie.

He returned to his 2015 because the future hadn't changed yet. It takes time for the changes to propagate through time, as it did in part 1 when Marty started disappearing.
He died from disappearing from the timeline. The extended deleted scene makes that much clearer, where you see him fade away.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=124-bZmfbPQ

Marty didn't experience the same pain, not sure if that's because he had only partially faded, or because he hadn't tried travelling back to the future where he would no longer exist yet.

This makes me sad.  :'(

I've watched one a day for three days and I don't want a NEW sequel but i'd love it if there was a 4th one made in like 1993 or something.

You can kinda tell that Zemeckis made Roger Rabbit and Part 2 very close together. There's a stylistic similarity.

Saw BTTF II at the theater yesterday, it was glorious! Saw a lot of people dressed up as Marty and a lot of cool BTTF t-shirts, I have never been around that many avid BTTF fans like myself :D
Crossed my mind that if old Biff had just directly told 1955 Biff that Marty and the Doc. are the "scientist and kid" in question; rich alternative Biff would have been able to get rid of them earlier on before 1985. Glad old Biff was dumb hehe
I wouldn't want somebody with 18 kids to mow my damn lawn, based on a longstanding bias I have against crazy fucks.

How come in BTTF's 2015 the world series was already over by 10/21? I know a season's length had something like 8 games added to it in 1961. Did it happen again after BTTF2 came out?

So where do we think Doc was going at the end of 3?

I'm thinking either back to 1885 or the centre of the earth as hinted by their shared love of Jules Verne

and the names of their kids.

I think the "already been there" refers solely to the future. And he always wanted to live in 1885 so simply returned.

I don't follow baseball closely, but I think the playoffs were expanded a few years ago, so they do last longer now than they used to, even recently.

At one time, only the division winners made the playoffs, but now wild card teams make it too.

I think.

That's correct.  There used to be only East and West divisions in each league, and they played best-of-5 to advance to the World Series.  Since then, they've added a Central division to each league and wildcards, meaning an extra round of playoffs, plus all playoff series are best-of-7.  This added a few weeks, give or take, depending on how long each series took.

I wouldn't say that. At all. They're all fun and good movies, but I think only the first comes close to being great. Through nostalgia goggles they might be the best, but without them, they're "just" three fine movies.

I think you could make valid arguments for all three of BTTF, LOTR and Star Wars, but if you're even gonna bring up Avatar, we might as well include The Expendables or the prequel trilogy.

That's just crazy talk.

No way does BTTF compare with either of those.  Hell, the Godfather trilogy, even with Part III being what it is, is light years ahead of BTTF.

I think the better series to compare with BTTF is the Matrix.  One amazing first film, and two other films.

The BTTF sequels may be less convoluted and contradictory than the Matrix sequels.

But hey, opinions.

Comparing BTTF to The Matrix at all is sacrilege. The Matrix sequels were garbage, especially the third movie.
