Just for fun - Let's make a worst case scenario for casting :

Marty - Justin Bieber

Doc - Rob Schneider

Biff - Jake Busey

George - Matt Broderick

Lorraine - Ellen DeGeneres.

They'd obviously Tron Legacy George & Lorraine's faces to make them young for the 1955 section - which will now be 1985 and present day will be 2015 in an *hilarious* post modern ironic twist.

If they were to ever (God forbid) make a remake, I think Jake Busey is actually a great choice for Biff. Well, except for the fact that he's a little old for the role now. Did you see him on Psych? He could have played his dad's role in Lethal Weapon.

There is a remake in the works in the form of a musical. I shit ye not.

I heard the director (I assume the chap talking is going to direct it) talking about it on front row on Radio 4 yesterday.

They want it to have an original slant as well and not just be a remake of the original as a musical.

OK, random thought here: Did Doc and Biff ever interact?

Sort of.  In II, Doc was the one who, in the alternate 1985, opened the car door and clocked Biff when he was about to shoot Marty on the roof.

They were also near each other a bunch of times. When Doc threw out the almanac, Biff was standing in the doorway. Biff also saw Doc fly away in the Delorean in 1985. He was able to warn himself about doc when he went back to 1955. Then again in 1955, (The first time) Doc saw Biff kicking George in the ass in the hallway. Weird, I never thought of it, but Biff had actually seen doc in his three main roles (55,85,and 15 Biff) without Doc changing a bit in age. I also assume that 2015 Biff had a run in with Doc Brown that we didn't see and resulted in Doc being committed.

Good point.  Future Biff was a pretty powerful guy, well connected, and definitely could have been the one that had Doc Brown put away.

Isn't that Alt. 1985 Biff? Pretty sure that when he says "And this has happened to me!" they are in alt. 1985.

Yes, that is correct, although we don't know for sure if rich Biff was the reason Doc was committed.  But that happened in alternate 1985, not 2015.

True.

He may have had a guess after 2015 Biff told him about a kid or a crazy man who claims to be a scientist, but it is never explicitly stated.

But yeah, so while they were in scenes together, they never exchanged a word, right? I mean, Lorraine I understand since she is much more marginal than Biff, but Biff is really all over the place. He did talk to Buford Tannen though!

It's one of those things you don't really think about unless it's pointed out to you.

In another one of my favorite movies, The Fifth Element, the main "good guy" is Bruce Willis and the main "bad guy" is Gary Oldman, and Willis actually works for Oldman at the start of the movie (but gets fired), yet they never actually meet, never even share a scene.  The closest they come is when Willis steps into an elevator a second before Oldman steps out of the one right next to it on the same floor.

How about the fact that Chigurh and Moss never actually saw each other in No Country for Old Men.  They did talk on the phone once, but they never saw each other, even during the chase near the hotel when both were wounded by the other.

Not face to face, but they did talk to each other numerous times over the viewscreens, and of course they had several face-to-face chats in the original episode.

Interesting.  Apparently, the DeLorean physically wasn't able to hit 88 mph in that parking lot.

Doc could blow the top off a steam engine by throwing in some colored towels. I'm sure he could have figured out a way to squeeze a few more horsepower out of DeLorean.

I wouldn't blame Doc.  I would blame the film's producers.

No big deal either way, just thought it was interesting.

At the end of part 1, Marty says they don't have enough road to hit 88mph, so I once worked out whether they did have enough road to hit 88mph on his street. If I recall, they did have enough road, but barely. There may have also been a dicey intersection in the way.

I saw the first movie in 2010 remastered. Was fantastic. Such a great experience. Everyone was cheering and laughing at the jokes like old friends and we all stood up and

applauded at the end credits. SO good.

The only one i've not seen in the cinema is part II since I saw the third film when it was released :)

How old are you? if you don't mind me asking, I was always under the assumption you're somewhere between 15 and 18 but if you saw the third movie in the theater then I'm dead wrong heh

I used to love 2 more than 1, but honestly the original is great, I saw 2 and 3 on the big screen.

I wish someone would re screen it in Australia, I already plan to book a Gold class with Shawshank for my 40th, double feature may be too much for some.  ::)

There are not too many movies I can re watch and love, but this (especially 1 & 2) is one I can.

Has everyone seen the quick scene is A Million Ways to Die in the West with Doc and the DeLorean? That was great and so unexpected.

I haven't seen that scene but from what I've heard about it - it's just another MacFarlane reference instead of a joke.

As in - oh look we're in the old west and here's Doc Brown......and that's the..."joke" ?

EDIT : Yeah I just watched it on Youtube and that's pretty much it.

Except for the first one, I've seen 2 and 3 in the theaters.

Anyway, after 30 years I've always wondered, how come Doc's favorite writer wasn't H.G. Wells? He's the one who wrote about time travel after all.

Maybe it was simply because the years wouldn't have worked for that scene of the movie where he's discussing it with Clara. Otherwise there wouldn't have been much point to mentioning it at all. His favourite writer doesn't necessarily have to be the one who wrote about time travel.
And then his kids would have had even weirder names. :lol

Let's imagine how horrific a Back To The Future remake would be !

The Time Machine : A Mercedes Kompressor with those stupid alloys that spin around.

Justin Bieber as Marty McFly trying to regain some cred with "Teh Kidz".

Rob Schneider as Doc Brown

Jake Busey as Biff / Griff ( You know they'd shoehorn in Griff in the 1st film somehow )

And to be all ironic n shit - Marty wouldn't go back to 1955 - it would be 1985 and he'd be all like : " What, no cellphones ?! "
