Ah, but you wimped out.  The question wasn't which is the best, which most people will agree is the original, but which is the least goodest.

The results will be the same. Whichever gets the least votes is the worst them.

But that just means the least people think it's the best, it doesn't mean the most people think it's the weakest.

I feel like I would have liked BTTF2 much better if the entire story of the film stayed in the future. Don't get me wrong, I still like it a lot, but going back to 1955 just seemed like re-treading old ground.

I like BTTF2 because of the return to 1955.  I thought it was very clever the way they worked "behind the scenes" to insure that the future came out correctly.  A lot of otherwise mundane scenes were suddenly hilarious because we know now what "really" happened.  And the jump to the future was cool.  In some ways, BTTF2 is my favorite because it took the concept further.

There's too much " What sucks " on this forum :lol

Why can't we have a poll for " What's good " for a change ?  :heart :chill

Yeah, you're right.  Positivity is better.  I was just pointing out that someone had called for a poll for least bestest, and that's not quite what your poll polled.  I'm a dick like that sometimes.

Anyway, I found this amusing.  Three BTTF characters aged 30 years via makeup, compared to how they actually look 30 years later:

The funny thing is that Crispin Glover played Marty's dad when in reality - Michael J Fox was older.

I think I read that somewhere.  Of course, Michael J Fox has always had a "young look" to him.

Obviously Crispin was cast because of his resemblence to MJF, but even in the recent picture, it's striking how much he looks like him.

The worst aspect about II is Jennifer. First they can't get the original hot actress but put a bad stand-in in her place, and then they just park her character in the literal dumpster. At least in III they completely wrote her out (except the epilogue).

They wrote themselves into that corner. When they wrote the original ending of BTTF, they didn't really have plans in mind, and then when they started writing BTTF2, they had no idea what to do with the fact that Doc brings her along with Marty to the future.

I was thinking, and I should've considered this when writing my list, but really, Back To The Future should be considered one big movie, just divided up in three parts (like Lord of The Rings), because unlike most franchises where some time may pass in between movies, the action in Back To The Future is continuous. The next movie takes place right where the previous one left off

Yes and is a proper Trilogy - unlike some films which just have two sequels.

And then a 4th film.

But that would never happen.

Anyway, I think we've discussed it before, but I never found the original Jennifer to be that hot.  Upon re-watching the trilogy recently, I've changed my mind.  She's not bad.  But I've always liked Elisabeth Shue, so I had no problem with the substitution, especially since Claudia Wells wasn't available anyway.

Yup. In part 1, she was smoking hot, and she wasn't hammy with her acting. Elisabeth Shue has aged better than Claudia Wells though.
Lea Thompson and Michael J Fox have aged really well. I think Mary Steenburgen looks better than she did back in the day, due to not looking very good back in the day, and the surgery.

That's part of why I love it. I also love all of the recurring scenes and themes throughout the generations. A lot of them are pretty obvious, but there are a lot of more subtle ones too.

In this day and age, it's hard to like 3 movies from a trilogy.  This is one that I really liked all of them.  Die Hard was one as well until they released the 4th which I liked too.  Haven't seen the 5th yet.

Don't bother with Die Hard 5. It's such a massive drop off in quality even from the 4th one - which I thought was pretty good - .

It's just all unbelievable action and McClain never gets as hurt as he ought to form the things that he does.

And a big CGI finale which would have looked awesome if they'd done it in-camera.

It's a shame that other than Roger Rabbit and Forrest Gump - Zemeckis never really reached those highs again.

He should have never gotten into Mo-Cap animation either. Polar Express was just dreadful.

I apologize if someone already brought this up....  But  Zemeckis reached another high with The Frighteners!  (also starring Michael J Fox).  One of my favorite movies, for sure.

The first BTTF is legitimately one of the greatest movies ever made. The sequels are good, but not up to the same level.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

You know, I don't think they ever did.  Doc Brown pretty much talked only with Marty.  He spoke a few words to Jennifer, but I don't think he ever talked to Biff, or George and Lorraine for that matter.
