Yeah, but a slightly darker tone in some parts is literally all I notice different.

to even further back track from my fail comment earlier in this thread - there are a bunch of sections in btbam's lunar wilderness that make me think of scale the summit.

Dude, The Levitated is just so damn good. Something about it is just other-worldly...the pattern Chris and Travis play at the end of the song is haunting.

Setra, I think that is the best statement I have read on this forum.  Very well said.

This, and drifting figures! They have really improved their sound!

I'll probably go to the portland show. I don't listen to them very often but their music is a lot more interesting live than it is on record.

Ouch!

If I was in NYC I'd take her to see Scale The Summit on Valentine's Day.

Also if I had a Valentine's Day sweetheart....

Had their last album not been a bit of a letdown I might have gone to Philly, but as is I'll be skipping this.

It sounds like all of their other studio albums because all of their songs sound the same.

what What WHAT?

Surely you must be kidding? *insert Airplane! joke*

There is a gigantic difference in sound from Carving Desert Canyons and The Collective, and I will say, it's for the better. The Collective is one of the best Instrumental albums I've ever heard.

I have a hard time listening to one of their whole albums. There might be a bit of a difference sonically between albums but there isn't really that much variety on each album.

But that's all okay! Because live their fantastic and I couldn't possibly get bored listening to them there.

I got their new album yesterday and I though it was pretty good. This is the first Scale The Summit album that I've heard but I liked it. I'll have to check out their other stuff.

Notice how on the tour poster, the Shreveport, LA date I want to go to says TBA....

Their Facebook and their website make no mention of this date. I'm gonna be so pissed if it doesn't happen.

One thing I noticed about Redwoods is something I don't notice about too many STS songs.
It is downright Beautiful! STS has plenty of beautiful moments, but in one song? Redwoods is uplifting, happy, exciting and really shows how multi dimensional this band is. I can't even fathom what they will write next!

Holy. Shit.

So according to their FB, the old bass player left and now they're sharing bass players with Tetrafusion. Imagine that.  :lol

It's too bad, he was by far the most entertaining person on stage.

Glad for Mark though. Like I said in the Tetrafusion thread, I hope they get a ton of exposure from this.
