Soundgarden - "Like Suicide"
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

P.S. It's weird/interesting that this thread has gotten a LOT less attention than in the past and the album thread has gotten a lot more.

 :metal :tup :tup :tup :tup

What a coinkydink! I was just jamming some old-school 'ryche for the first time in ages last night. The beginning of Walk In The Shadows always gets me goin'. I love the rest of the song of course but those first few notes hit me hard for some reason. That and Warning were on repeat for like half the night (and a little Jet City Woman).

I shall repeat history, as humans do best:

Queensryche - Warning

Fun fact: The first QR song I ever heard was Anarchy-X/Revolution Calling (I put them together because at the time, and for a while, I thought they were one song) and it just exploded from there. These guys are almost as influential for me as DT was..
