Words you invariably misspell when you type them
« on: June 11, 2013, 11:21:09 AM »
I have this with the word "begin". Almost always do I accidentally type "being" and then have to go back and change it.
Also, almost every word with "uous" in it (ingenuous etc.) I will initially spell with just "ous".

Any other words?

Dark. I almost always spell it "Drak". That's why, for quite some time, I've had a song on my computer titled "The Drak Eternal Night".

I have a persistent mental error (Freudian slip?) with the word 'discount' which is a real problem when giving quote emails to customers. My fingers keep switching the 'c' and the 'o'. I have yet to not catch it but...it's only a matter of time.

I've been spelling "Kind regards" as "King regards" for the last month or so. That's a nice one to accidentally press "send" on.

"License"

Since elementary school, I ALWAYS want to put an "s" before the "c".  Or reverse the "c" and "s" entirely.

It's ridiculous.

"Shift" is a nice one too for me. For the longest time I had an album called "Framshit" in my music library.

Convenience (I just misspelled it here and auto-correct fixed it)... I always switch the "I" and the "n".  Thing is, I use the word on a daily basis with business correspondence.

"Probably cause." I've noticed I'm not the only one that does that.

Receive. Believe.

fucking "I"s and "E"s
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Occasionally. I can't spell that motherfucker. I just misspelled it. I keep hoping what happened with necessarily will happen in this case too and that I'll finally learn how to spell it but no cigar so far.

As contrived as it sounds, but I have on numerous occasions spelled it "Mike Porntoy" without intent.

I always spell it "thrid" when I type.  Except for the example above, and that's because I was focusing on spelling it correctly  :justjen

interesting thread.. i definitely have a couple of these but i can't think of any now...    I definitely notice in emails after I send them that I leave out random words by accident, and sometimes its not even clear what it was supposed to be..

Occasionally. I can't spell that motherfucker.
Same problem here! Other words I often misspell are environment (I tend to forget the second "n") and successful (I add another "l" or forget one "c" or "s").
