In the past 2 weeks:
CDs
Jethro Tull - Broadsword and the Beast Already have this on CD but I saw the remastered version with the bonus tracks for $7 so bought it basically for the bonus tracks. Well worth it as they're pretty good.
Iron Maiden - s/t Still have my vinyl copy which I bought back in 1981. As I haven't had a working stereo amp for the past the past 5 years I haven't been able to play my vinyl albums, so I'm slowly buying CD copies of albums I have owned for years on vinyl. I listen to my CDs on a Sony micro system. Far from ideal, but it does the job.
Metallica - RTL
Whitesnake - 1987
Within Temptaion - Hydra (Deluxe Edition)
Vinyl
Just because I don't have the facilities to listen to my vinyl at the moment, doesn't stop me buying it. I'm not interested in 180 gsm reissues, only collect vintage albums from second hand record stores. Don't really have a logical reason, bit like a book collector only being interested in early editions I suppose.
Yes - Close to The edge
Jethro Tull - Benefit
Uriah Heep - The Magician's Birthday.
Above three albums I've owned for many years on CD. As a student in the late 70s - mid 80s, I never got around to getting these on vinyl. Now finally have them. Won't part with the CDs though. My CttE CD is signed by Chris Squire, Rick Wakeman and Roger Dean. Roger Dean also signed my Magician's Birthday CD.
Bo Hanson - Music Inspired by The Lord of the Rings
Couldn't believe my luck when I picked this up for $10 at my Revival Records, my local vintage record store. I've only ever seen it once before. Still haven't been able to listen to it but I really enjoy his album Magician's Hat, which I have on CD.
