Death Cab For Cutie - Narrow Stairs

Awesome. You have Transatlanticism as well, yes? If you want more after this, Plans should be next.

I do not, actually. The reason DCFC wasn't banned was that I had only heard Transatlanticism once and felt I didn't remember enough of it to ban the entire band. I assume that would be my next step, and then Plans afterwards, but for now I'll focus on 1 album per band, 2 for some.

Continuing a spate of 80s albums I've bought in the past year or so.

My favourite albums from each of these bands. Still have my vinyl copy of Script that I bought on pure speculation simply based on the album artwork when it was first released. Both albums would probably go close to making my top 50 if I ever get around to doing one.

Yes - Yes (1969)... the 1970 re-pressing, pretty nice album. Good to finally own it on vinyl.
Vangelis - Chariots of Fire... love the soundtrack, not too keen on the movie. Original pressing on vinyl.

Coming this week:

Neal Morse Band: Alive Again
Twisted Sister: Metal Meltdown
Metal Allegiance: Fallen Heroes (on ITunes)
Final Fantasy XIII OST (doesn't MP play on this?)
I don't want MP playing with DT unless they were making a drummer change. If they let MM go and bring back MP, then fine, but no guest appearance please.
WELP.

Avantasia - Ghostlights
Ayreon - Universal Migrator (the 2 CD set with both parts)
Kamelot - Silverthorn
Seventh Wonder - Mercy Falls
Thank You Scientist - Stranger Heads Prevail

Looking at it now, this is a very Evermind order. :lol

Silverthorn, Mercy Falls and The Dream Sequencer are all killer, Flight of the Migrator and Ghostlights - which I've listened to just today on my way to work and actually liked it much more than I remembered - are good bordering on great, and I don't know any Thank You Scientist.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

Mastodon - Crack the Skye (about fucking time)

Also got the store dude to order Periphery - Periphery III: Select Difficulty for me and I should be able to pick it up this weekend, they only had Juggernaut - Omega.

Just found out about this shop today when I randomly stumbled upon it, never seen a record store with such a wide collection of progmetal bands, they even have stuff like Toothgrinder and Be'Lakor (actually don't know if Be'Lakor is that obscure though), and they give every customer a permanent 10% discount card :metal

New album today:

Circa - Valley of the Windmill

Thought/assumed it was their first and they were a new supergroup. Turns out it's their fourth. I like it though. My 7th 2016 release (a record) and my 27th album purchase this year. One short of my record for one year, and it's only the end of August.

I tend to buy Russian pressings sometimes because of how cheap they are. I've recently got Effloresce (or whatever it's called) by Oceansize only because it was like $4 or something like that. I wouldn't have bothered with it for $10 or higher.

And the actual pressing isn't too bad too.
