Just arrived:

Jethro Tull - A Passion Play (new deluxe 2CD/2DVD set remixed by Steven Wilson)
Haken - Aquarius
Kix - Rock Your Face Off (I knew they were back together, but I surprised they had *just* released a new album...their first album of new material in 19 years!)

En route, to arrive in the coming week:

Explosions in the Sky - All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone
Explosions in the Sky - Take Care, Take Care, Take Care
Porcupine Tree The Pineapple Thief - Variations on a Dream [edit - Why do I always screw those bands up?? ]
Riverside - Out of Myself
Frank Zappa - We're Only In It For the Money

Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

What do you think?

My first listen was not kind. I'm going to give it another listen or two before I pass judgement. I will say it ended very strong.  The new single "Love Me With Your Top Down" is up there with all the classics.

I guess I'm disappointed because Kix is by far my favorite hair metal band, and it's not even close.  Blow My Fuse is actually near the bottom of the pack. The self titled debut and Midnight Dynamite are probably both in my top 5 hair metal releases in rock history, and Hot Wire and Show Business are really excellent as well.  But this new one....meh.   Ratt's comeback album from a few years back impressed me more.

I wouldn't rave over the new Kix - it's certainly solid though and a far more convincing effort than Tesla's latest.

Bought these today:

Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime
Queensryche - Promised Land
Camel - Moonmadness
IQ - Frequency

Funnily enough, I just realized that from this day on Tate can't use the QR name anymore - way to celebrate! :lol I picked up the original CD version of Mindcrime because I know the remasters suffer from the loudness war.

ReVamp - Wild Card

September and October are going to be awesome in terms of new releases.

Guess I can scratch that off my possible Roulette submissions.  And on your latter point, you got that right.

I'm feeling a big purchase coming on ... it's been too long since I blew my wad on some music.

Wait... wat!?  :|

I don't think there is a WOW song on either of the ReVamps albums, I may have done you a favor.

I'll agree on the first one.  The song with Devy is a great one though.  It grows on ya.

Ihsahn - After
After is fucking amazing. If you dig the sax work, you must absolutely get Eremita as well. It's maybe not as good, but it's a bit crazier and avant-garde than After.

My recent haul

Amplifier - Mystoria (preorder)
The Atlas Moth - The Old Believer
Dark Castle - Surrender to All Life Beyond Form
Flying Colors - Second Nature (preorder)
Kayo Dot - Coffins On Io (preorder)
Opeth - Pale Communion
Pallbearer - Foundations of Burden
Subrosa - More Constant Than The Gods
Yob - Clearing The Path To Ascend

Already had Emerita.  I really like all of his albums.

Also, I forgot I got the Opeth album.  Probably because it wasn't worth remembering.

Since I finished my roulette, I've had a long list of CDs I've been looking for.  I've managed to find most of them in various local record stores, which is the way I prefer to shop, but there were a few I wasn't having any luck tracking down.  I finally gave in and decided to order several of them online from FYE, and the shipment just arrived this morning.  So, my haul:

Dimension Act - Manifestation of Progress
Silent Memorial - Retrospective
Subsignal - Paraiso
IQ - Road of Bones
Moon Safari - Blomljud
Ayreon - The Human Equation
Frost* - Milliontown
Star One - Space Metal
Seventh Wonder - Mercy Falls
Sincerely,
Jaffa

That's a helluva fuckin haul right there.  Though I find it interesting you chose other albums for Ayreon/Star One than what I sent you.  Though, imo, the better albums, so it's certainly not a bad thing.

I'm feeling a big haul coming on.  Flying to San Fran for work on Sunday, so I could use some new tunes to pass the 5.5 hours.

I haven't been listening to much music at all lately, and realised this week that it's probably because I'm basically all out of new music to trigger listening. Cue great big haul.

Bach - Partita No. 2
Grateful Dead - American Beauty
Jimi Hendrix Experience - Electric Ladyland
Stooges - Fun House
Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers - Free for All
