What to do in Berlin? (FAO Germans especially)
« on: March 04, 2013, 07:22:41 AM »
So I'm heading to Berlin for four days next week and I was hoping you well-travelled people out there could recommend some less touristy, but equally fun, things to do. Daytime activities or nightlife, I'm open to suggestions (within the realms of decency :lol ).

Cheers.  :D

When I was there I took a guided tour of the tunnels East German defectors used to get under the wall. That was quite cool.

The Zoologischer Garten is one of the better zoos I've visited, and you'll walk past the thing 30 times while you're in Berlin. Spend a few hours checking it out (along with the aquarium, which was being renovated while I was there).
Argument, the presentation of reasonable views, never makes headway against conviction, and conviction takes no part in argument because it knows.

If you're somewhat into museums, the Jewish Museum in Berlin and the one under the Holocaust Memorial are probably close to the best museums I've been to. The Holocaust one is really depressing in a good way without focusing on facts more than absolutely necessary. And the Jewish Museum is really interesting as well, although you'd probably have to go there at least five times to see all of it, it's way too much to take in during one visit.

I'd second the Jewish memorial. It's really interesting.
