I love the keyboard work during the verses!

This was my least favorite Dream Theater song for many years.

Then... Raw Dog happened.

It's a silly song, but I don't hate it anymore.
In what way is it silly?

The lyrics mainly.

Not a huge fan of the song, but I loved the '05 version.

Which one is it or what differences out of curiosity? Don't think I've heard any later versions of that one.

It's not a bad song, it's not a great song. Much the same way FII is a good album, but not great. I've always listened to it with appreciation, but it's not my fav on the album.
Everything is immaterial. Do you know that reality is immaterial? This is not reality.
In what friggin' universe is a 68 minute long album "short"?

I liked the idea of the song.  Remember the movie Twins?  I always felt this song was Danny DeVito to Arnold's Take the Time.  Shorter, bitter a result of being beaten down.  TTT had the optimism of a band on the rise, immense promise, and a new Picasso guitar.

hahaha
it kind of make sense to me
To me, this song (along with NM, HK, LITS, and ToT among others) was the proof that there still was a wish to prog in DT.
Thing that they prove with SFAM clearly.
