Dirty Three - Ocean Songs.
that album lacks dynamics, yha. but its stilll have some amazing pieces like Sirena or Authentic Celestial Music.
A great post-rock album I think, really makes you think about the ocean

crazyaga might be Ryan Gallagher 2.0. Near identical taste.

I never really understood the definition of post rock and how it differs from art rock/avant-garde, but the last two Talk Talk albums are pretty cool.

Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A. Guy who hung around here and listened to similar stuff. He didn't like DT at all, but stuck around for the community or something. Got banned a while ago, before you joined, I think.

That's the gist.

zxlkho. Letters. :jets: I remember he was obsessed with Porcupine Tree's "Trains." He made a troll account on DTF called LeTrains although I can't find him on the memberlist. He basically only posted about things relating to trains. He even made a last.fm profile where all that was in his library were hundreds of scrobbles of Trains.

Ah, here it is: https://www.last.fm/user/LeTrains

I disagree. But either way it is not "essential". :P

That's not my point :) anyway I think the /mu/ collection is a very complete list :)

( ) > Agaetis Byrjun every day of the week. I'd throw in Takk in the middle. Nothing against AB, it's a great album, but I think ( ) is a much more impressive album, both musically and if we're speaking concept/main idea etc.

Stereolab isn't post-rock in the slightest, so I don't know why they're on there. Other then that, lots of goodies.

They're moreso noise pop/dream pop with a bit of krautrock influence thrown in. I don't really hear any post-rock in their sound.

My list is WAY better than the list of /mu/ because their list contain alot of non-essential albums....
And even some completely obscure artists like Kyte or Tarwater.

Guys who are new to post-rock - use my list. its better.
