MetalJunkie makes 9.  If that's all I set up a tournament with 3 pools of 3 each and we'll go from there.

Umm... I play on my iPad, but I assume it's available on Facebook too.  Not really sure.  We're now up to 10.  I guess I'll give it to the end of the weekend, then start it up from there.

Ok, yeah, let's get it started.  Sorry... kinda fell behind on this with all the holiday stuff.  Since we have 10, I think the best way to do this would be have two pools of 5, And then we'll have two winners from each pool.  Then from there we'll have semi-finals and finals.  For the semi-finals, the winner of Pool 1 will play the winner of Pool 2, and 2nd place in Pool 1 will play 2nd place in Pool 2, then the two winners will play each other.

Since the pools are so large, and since each Scramble game goes 3 rounds, I think the easiest way to set it up would be to have everybody in each pool play all the other members of the pool one time.  As with the WWF tournament, ties will be settled by point differential.  Semi-final round will be a best of 3 and final round will be a best of 5.  I'm gonna put all the names in a list randomizer and use that to determine the pools.

Ok, initial pools are as follows:

Pool 1:
Splent (splent83)
Implode (implode573)
senecadawg2
Unlegit (UnIegit)
ScioPath

Pool 2:
MetalJunkie (Guitarded101)
Scorpion
Chino (Chino1130)
ZeppelinDT
Ben_Jamin

If your Scramble username is different from your DTF username, post your Scramble username here.  For the first round, each person should be playing one game against each other person in their pool.  I don't think it matters who starts the games, so I guess for that part the games can be started by whoever gets around to it first.

I think we should do a bracket since we have an even number of people. For instance, if I played Chino and Chino won, he would move onto the next round. Something like this:

I thought about that, but I don't really like the bracket system in this sort of situation because not everybody plays at once and people end up getting byes.  The nice thing about the pool system is that everybody can play at once and I think it gives more balanced results.  It worked really well in the WWF tournament which is why I went with it here, but if people would prefer a bracket system with byes then I'll do it that way.

It's pretty straightforward.  You play one game against each of the other members in your pool.  So for the first round, you would play a total of 4 games (One against each other person in Pool 2).  The end result is that each person in the pool plays a total of 4 games.  After all the games are done, the players are ranked in order of wins.  So whoever has the most total wins out of those 4 games is the winner of the pool.  If there's a tie, the tie-breaker is point differential.  So, for example, say nobody in your pool has 4 wins, but two players have 3 wins each.  You'd then look at the final scores from each game.  So say player one had won their game 200-190, and player two had won their game 205-180.  Players one's point differential would be +10, and Player two's would be +25, so player two would get first place and player one would get second place.

11 makes it pretty difficult, but if we can get one more person to join up and make the total number 12, then I can re-organize it to be 4 pools of 3 rather than 2 pools of 5 (Which I'd actually prefer, because it would running this a bit simpler)

Oh. Like the Super Bowl? In that case, I motion for Pool 2 to be the NFC.

Zeppelin, I think you need to set an official start time. That way, hopefully everyone who wants to participate will say so at once, rather than one person every two or three days, prolonging the start.

That's a good plan.  It looks like we're up to 11 now so I'm really kind of hoping we can get one more for a total of 12.  11 would be kind of tough because it's a prime number so you can't evenly do brackets or pools.  If you're reading this thread and you haven't signed up yet, DO IT NOW!!
