These tests seem like a pretty good way to get people to over-analyze semantics and fool themselves into thinking certain people are more worthy of being pursued for socialization based on a questionnaire that takes less than 10 minutes.

Some people may approach it that way...but I don't think that is the original point of the test, nor is it the fault of the psychological blueprint that makes it up.

You're correct.  Myers-Briggs is a theory about how one might group people into larger categories based on personality, and nothing more.  If you're deciding your friends and lovers based off an online Myers-Briggs test, you are doing it wrong.

Nah, everyone's type is the best, the rest of the world has to cope with it as good as possible. Why change yourself (except in terms of drugging, killing people, raging wars,....)?

It's weird that it gave me something with Extrovert in it. I don't think of myself as very extroverted, nor am I all that introverted. I'm in this weird medium between the two.

So, just for fun last night I had my fiancé take the personality test.

I am INTJ and I was delighted to find out that she is INTJ as well. I love her more than life itself and it just made perfect sense. I feel very lucky and grateful.

Not that one should give too much credence to these things, but my previous gf was the exact polar opposite of me. I am an ENTP, she was an ISFJ. Probably not too surprising, it didn't last.
