Now it really does become next to impossible.

Money.

Us and Them

The Great gig in the sky is the most emotional piece of music ever written in the history of rock.

The Great gig in the sky is the most emotional piece of music ever written in the history of rock.

I was 100% sure that the song would have ended up winning this survival. Seriously, what's happening?

Breathe.

To some people, it just sounds like a chick wailing for several minutes.  Personally, I find it quite powerful.  I like her voice, I like the chords, and I like the way it rises and falls, practically telling a story without words.

But you have to consider that it's up against some songs with some iconic lyrics, words that literally apply to everyone and to which everyone can relate, talking about issues we all have faced or will someday face.  We all seem to have different criteria for voting in these things, but I try to measure "overall awesomeness" based on as many factors as I can.  And when you get right down to it, "Great Gig" is just a chick wailing for several minutes.

Two more easy picks, including this one.  Then it gets hard.  I voted Breathe (and Money is next to go.)  But it looks like my vote won't matter for this round anyway.  I can't believe people are kicking off Great Gig.  This is one of those truly unique pieces that makes you sit up and realize what music can be when people are creative.
