I'm a bit confused as well, but the Ramses gif is a classic.  That one gets a lot of use by me to my coworkers and friends  :lol

Some of that stuff was funny.

I know, I have an objective sense of humor.

No joke.

It's Donald Trump Jr. standing with the republican party.

Also, side note, I find that shit to be disgusting.  I couldn't imagine killing such a beautiful animal.

I feel like an idiot for asking this, but what part of the elephant is he holding?

Also yea, this is one of those pics where a caption would not have been redundant.

I'm the same way, and no matter what the circumstances, I could never pull the trigger, but I can defend some of these "hunts".

In larger animals like elephants, rhinos, and lions, older males can cause a lot of problems, especially if the species are on a preserve with limited space and are endangered. There are times when a large male, who is no longer fertile, still fights off the young males in competition for a mate. When population numbers are low, the last thing you need is young males capable of reproducing getting killed by an elder who doesn't realize he's no longer making baby gravy.

The options are to let the juveniles get stomped, or you release the elder from the preserve and let nature do its thing. The latter is almost wasteful though, sometimes. Often times the meat from these hunts gets donated to nearby villages who genuinely need the food, and the $200K+ it costs to kill one of these things usually goes to the organization responsible to running the preserve and keeping their anti-poaching teams well equipped and in good numbers.

It's not an ideal situation, but it's better than some asshat just flying to Africa to kill a beast and leave its corpse to rot. Donald Jr. (and others who do this kind of safari) didn't even hunt this thing. Guys who run the preserve drove him out there in a jeep after tracking it and just told him what part of the elephant to aim at.

My guess is that he didn't even cut off the tail looking at the length of the knife he's holding and how clean it is. One of the natives in the hunting party likely did that for him too.

I have no idea why but I'm imagining that picture with JR. as Ralph Wiggum.

He probably didn't even shoot it either. Just asked to hold the tail.

This is old, but I don't think it was posted.  Still true (and hilarious), even if it isn't the week before elections.

It would have been even more side-splitting if they went full on and put "the Republican" in front of "Congress".

Perhaps its just me, but I don't find Melissa McCarthy as Shaun Spicer funny at all.
Humor is definitely subjective.

McCarthy as Spicer was one of the funniest things SNL has ever done. I could barely breath the first time I saw the above scene.

On the 2nd skit, when he/she was trying to pronounce the names of the foreign dignitaries and countries ... I lost my shit.

It's like most things on SNL, though:  Fucking hilarious the first time, pretty damn funny the second time, maybe amusing the third time, and "time to get some chips and dip, and fast-forward to either the musical guest or Colin/Michael at the news desk" every time after that.

Agreed... a lot of SNL skits have a pretty quick flashpoint before they're running on fumes.

I'm still on the ground. It'd take a nice payday or a gun to my head to get me to jump out of a plane.
