I wouldn't want somebody with 18 kids to mow my damn lawn, based on a longstanding bias I have against crazy fucks.

I think it does. I don't think that is something he would want his kids to smoke nor would he want to legalize pot as an example to his daughters. It's my opinion anyhow.
Instead, his example will be someone who's openly admitted to having smoked it and done cocaine (although he put it as having "done a little bit of blow").

Nothing wrong with admitting it. Doesn't mean he wants drugs legalized. Maybe he does, but I doubt it.
I smoked a shit load of week in my life. I also snorted my share of cocaine. I don't care if Obama smoked snorted or tripped his balls off.

He was against the drug war when he was a senator, so I think the idea that he's against it because of his kids doesn't entirely hold water.

And there is something wrong with admitting it. He's admitting supporting a policy which if it had been applied to him he wouldn't be president...

Being for the drug war because you have kids is such a fucked up line of reasoning.  The cure is 100x worse than the disease.

Here's a piece of political humor.

Paula Broadwell's biography of David Patraeus is titled "All In."

I know it's just a joke, but I love how these things always leave out counties doing way better than us, like France.

Or Sweden, which is very economically competitive, healthy, very happy, and very socialist.
Or Canada, which is way more socialist than us, and yet is doing far better than us. They're currency is actually worth more than ours, now.

All that aside, I am willing to bet that 99% of the folks with the "No Socialism" sign do not understand what socialism is.

Agreed.  And the US has always had socialist-like policies.  Also, it's not as if the current state of the US politics/economics is the model we should all be aspiring to.

I'm confused.  Why can't another company simply buy the rights for the product if they're so popular?  Bankrupt companies do that all the time.

If it's profitable to do so... but I'd imagine someone would buy Twinkies. It's just that the media doesn't care, and most Americans probably don't understand the process.

I was reading the other day that two Mexican companies have been making offers.

Related to the Hostess discussion.   I live in the northwest where Dolly Madison has been, at best hard to find, and at the least non-existent.

My local Chevron station just replaced the Hostess endcap with sortof "coming soon" Dolly Madison endcap.    The void will always be filled...and life will continue.
