Wow seems like all of us are in a similar position.
I flirted with death metal maybe 12 or so years ago but it just never stuck so i sent the track that stuck with me most, it has cleaner vocals too :/

It is fun indeed. But it's not fun that there is almost NO Prog Death Metal band besides Opeth that fits me...

I feel the same way. I even grew tired of Opeth at Ghost Revieries.
Still he's the only growly vocalist i actually like and his clean vocals compliment them so well.

At this point i wanted something good. Something like a light. Hmmm. Is this it? So far,instrumentally this is the best one. (The previous ones were Big Hath and theliloutcast) This is the closest to great so far. Because it is. Probably cause it's more instrumental than vocals. It is the most instrumental focused so far. Well whatever this is the best so far.

At this point i was losing hope. And yeah this one had some nerve wracking vocals. The screaming was annoying and the vocals were meh. The instrumental wasnt that amazing.

This is great. The guitar playing is wonderful. The intro is great.. Please make the vocals good. Oh.. Female. Well she's alright so far. WOW CLEAN VO- oh… What the fuck? These growls are horrid. Seems like the winner is Nekov again! Btw yes, i dont think Death Metal is my thing... But still i enjoyed some of those songs! And btw all of these were written in real time. I sent Amon Amarth because they have the least annoying grows of any band in death metal history. I also sent it in before you said clean vocals are okay, which is silly because that's a huge part of what makes death metal the genre it is.

What I think is awesome about the song I sent is that it's brutal, but it remains 'happy'. The riffs, especially the fast ones just scream JOY. I do agree on the snare being slightly annoying though. If you liked it, I recommend the whole album.
