Yeah, I had to stop at the turn of last year due to my liver being fucked (NOT due to drinking BTW). I mean, I can have a beer, but I can't drink like I did. I think in the calendar year 2023, I had maybe 20 beers. I've had ONE beer in 2024 when my son turned 21.

I'm very bummed because when I do have a beer, I can taste the alcohol so strongly. i used to drink Moosehead like water, and I had one on Christmas Eve and eeww. So I haven't even enjoyed the few beers I've had.

That's me and wine; I went to dinner with some work friends a couple weeks ago and ordered a glass of wine.  I ended up not even finishing it.

Is that the water in a can? Is it that good?

They have plain "mountain water" but I prefer the sparkling water. They've got different flavors like melon (my personal favorite), lime, and mango.

I've really come to love sparkling water. If I see it in the store this weekend I'll pick some up.

Never quite understood the appeal of unflavoured sparkling water. To me it's just normal water but worse.

You mean Liquid Death doesn't come in Coma, Formaldehyde, and Ganggreen flavors?
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

Agree.

Not if you enjoy it?

Would just be hard for me to pay for it when I can get water for free.

:lol No, but their motto is "Murder your thirst". The flavors are called "Convicted Melon", "Severed Lime", and "Mango Chainsaw".

They had an Arnold Palmer flavor (iced tea + lemonade) that they called "Armless Palmer", but it seems Mr. Palmer's family had a problem with that, so they changed the name to "Dead Billionaire".

The unflavored stuff is worthless. The flavored stuff is more akin to soda, but with 0 sodium.

I never did until I tried cutting sugar out my diet. It's actually really good when you acquire the test. What is weird, though, is that my kids love unflavored sparkling water, too.

I don't like any sparkling liquids, but sparkling water is just weird to me.

I'm cool with it. Sometimes you just need bubbles to wash down a good sandwich.

I cut out soda and all carbonated drinks when I was 17. Mostly for health I think, but I really loved soda.

Tried carbonated soda a few years ago for the first time since and the bubbles are terribly uncomfortable.

That's an interesting choice to make for a 17 y/o.

Hopefully you weren't under duress at the time because of your health.

Nope. Me drastically limiting my sugar intake now is definitely health related, but back then I was just a weird kid. Though I'd imagine 20 something years with no soda wasn't bad for me.

I drank Coke morning day and night. When I found out I was diabetic (I was 29), I cut out soda cold turkey for about 10 years. I eventually started to drink diet soda. I will drink a Coke Zero from time to time now.

Diet soft drink/soda is a fabulous weight loss tool or a perfect alternate to keep calories in check too.

Most of adult life, I never drank soda (I just ate every other bad food instead :lol), but now that I am watching sugar, I have come to rely on zero sugar soda in addition to carbonated drinks. It's been a great pickup when I want that sweetness.

Exactly.  They get demonised due to the artificial sweeteners but really, they are a godsend.

I have not had an adult beverage in 8+ months. I had a glass of bourbon tonight and am definitely feeling it more than I should.

I have told my wife on more than one occasion that I love soda so much, if I didn't care about my waist line or meeting my potential future grandchildren I would drink several cans per day.

I've drank diet soda my entire life. My family has history of both being overweight and diabetes, so my mum restricted full sugar drinks from an early age. Which given my weight now is probably for the best.

For me, sparkling water is just unbalanced. Since its essentially a dilute solution of carbonic acid, it has only a sour taste which has never been appealing to me. Its like drinking dilute, bubbly vinegar. Sodas and flavoured waters however have some sweetness or other flavour profile that balances it out.

Edit: Also, 157 pages? Definitely time for a new thread.
