Are you into sports?

People say that you're either a sports person or a music person. Since this is a music forum, I'm curious to see what the results are.


I'm gonna say kinda. I love going to games, but I'm not into watching sports on TV or following any particular team.

With exceptions, I'd say that's generally true. I can remember most of the people in band in high school were not into athletics at all.

I dislike the vast majority of sport, and place literally zero importance on it at all. So I would say no.

I voted kinda, because... I'm into playing soccer, and really into watching college basketball, but that's it.

I very rarely watch football, baseball, hockey, or anything else. I don't even think I've watched the last couple super bowls

I think you're confusing jocks/musicians with actually listening to music/watching a sport. The two groups are not mutually exclusive at all.

Is Marching Band a sport?

If it is, then yeah. But it's the only sport I have any interest in.

If it's not, then no. I couldn't care less about sports.

I really enjoy playing sports.

and I kinda enjoy watching sports, but only with other people. I don't watch sports by myself.

Watching sports reminds me of the whole bread and circuses thing as well. Whatever though.

I love sports. Football, college basketball, hockey, and baseball in particular. But I'll watch almost any sport.

Over all, no. I can enjoy watching sports if I'm put in that situation: going to a game, superbowl party, etc. But it's not something I keep up with on my own.

Reading this response I just realized that people are probably interpreting the question quite differently. I personally took it as "do you do sports?", whereas you took it as "do you enjoy watching sports?". Those two a very different, I for one hate watching sports, but love playing it.

Both.. I am not the kind of person that has passion as an inherent trait, and need outside influences to fuel that inside of me, both music and sports are ideal for that, and have been a part of my life since almost the beginning.

When I was in high school, I was in band AND I played football. I'm also really into music AND really into sports. Just blew this generalization out of the water.

I am interested in tennis, although that was only a passing interest until earlier this year when I started following it much more closely. And I watch stuff like the Euro Championship and the World Cup. But I voted no since I think that more accurately reflects the information you want than "kinda" - I dont keep up with or go out of my way to watch any sports other than tennis, and I only started doing that recently. You'll generally find if you give an in-between option in a poll a lot of people will vote for it. Not many people have always had absolutely zero interest in sport.

There was a time Rumbo when I first met my wife that I was in 3 softball leagues, 2 bowling leagues and a street hockey and basketball league.  Then comes the house and working 50 some odd hours and it all disappears.   I do miss playing.
