I've seen this same quote attributed to George Carlin.  Now I don't know who said it.  Searching on the Internet won't help, because hits will show up for both.  Life is confusing.

After a quick google search I saw it attributed to Sean Morey as well.  I'm not sure if I can trust the source I found, and can't find anything on Snopes.

I really didn't even bother Google searching, but if you say Sean Morey showed up, then I'd actually bet that he said it.  Why?  Because I've never heard of him.  Great quotes like that seem to be more "popular" if they're said by someone with more name recognition.  There's a somewhat famous diatribe about England and the United States floating around that's often attibuted to John Cleese.  Same deal; he never said it.
