Mom's side is your standard mish-mash of western European whiteness- little English here, bit of German there, mostly Danish though.  I'm not a ginger, my hair is brown, but my beard is red.

Dad's side is %100 Jew- Russian from my grandfather, Polish from my grandmother.  I think the fact that my mother is not a Jew excludes me from the official club, but my son calls my grandparents bubbe and zayde and I love gefilte fish and shit, so I don't know- what say you Adami?  Can I be like Forge in the X-Men or something where I don't really ever do anything cool but I'm still kind of part of the gang?

100% English, but that's only as far as I'm aware, and only as far as that means anything. Neither of which is a particularly long distance.

While England (and Britain, and the UK) isn't perhaps a melting pot in the same way the USA is, and it's never been the site of a mass pilgramage or anything, it's all just the product of what came before. I'm a little bit Celtic, a little bit Norman, a little bit Anglo-Saxon, and almost certainly a little bit Roman to boot. It's not really a measure of anything except how many generations I can count.

I feel more kinship with the Anglo-Saxons than the Normans seeing as I think of Great Britain as my home that they invaded, but once you count back so many generations, you'll have more ancestors than people have ever existed, so I owe as much to Harold's enemies as to his people. Not that it makes it any less interesting - I'd love to hear about my x*(great)-granddad the Roman general - but he'd almost certainly be ariich's and alirocker's and XJDenton's granddad too.

I'm only English, then, for as far as it's sensible to be precious about it. So that's barely at all, but also... completely!

Forge? Meh. You can be like Rictor who lost his powers on M-Day but still hangs out with the X-Men and stuff.

I absolutely loooathe when people say I'm 100% something or other. Bitch, please. If you go back 10 generations you have 1024 grandparents. I highly doubt you are 100% anything. Odds are a rape or accidental pregnancy with a foreigner happened at some point. It may not be the case for all countries. I imagine their are pure Chinese or Monk people somewhere... But here in 'merica, the only thing you are 100% of is uncertainty.

Very true....  supposedly I'm German on my dads side.  Family rumor though is that my Granny had a fling with a jewish doctor.  SO!!  I'm German/Jewish, Irish and Swedish.... as far as we know... ;D

Well, I'm 1/4 Lithuanian.  Unfortunately, I do not know anyone from that sector of the tree.  Would like to meet up with them, learn about the country, ect. as it's the only real interesting background thing I've got going on.

The other 3/4 is a typical Northern Europe blend, nothing interesting there.

I am 100% a mix of several different things.  Mostly German, a chunk Irish, and if my grandmother was to be believed, a smattering of Native American.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I had a history teacher in high school that said that most of us were "Heinz 57", just a bunch of everything mixed, and I'll have to agree.
Perhaps you should ask bosk to reverse the "e" and "a" in the second half of your user name.

African-American, German, Irish, French, Italian

I have a very strange opportunity here to argue with a black guy over the use of the term African-American. And I'm tempted to take it because in real life I'd be WAY too much of a pussy. But .....I think I'll pussy out online as well.

Can we say you're....50% African, 10% German, 10% Irish, 10% French, 10% Italian and 10% Tremonti?

I'm at the very least 4 generations removed from any sort of homeland, but Irish, German, and Italian.

We already had a thread like this a while back btw.

To the question:
50% Japanese at least 4 centuries back
37.5% Latvian, as far as at least 200 years back
12.5% Uncertain, as my great grandfather was a foundling in Latvia
