Frankly, I haven't even heard one person speak up and say "Oh good! This way Scarred will be voted out earlier!" As far as I'm concerned this decision is based on equal opportunities for all songs, not some big conspiracy...
This. People want it to be fairer and equal for all songs, not because of Scarred (even though it may have been the incident that sparked the controversy). Whereas those wanting to keep things open are only doing so because they want to have more influence than other people so they can keep their favourites in.

How does this get rid of the conspiracy? It makes it bit harder to see, but it's still there. Now if you really want to end the conspiracy hide the votes and stop people from posting their votes.
Well, only about 10-20% of voters actually post their votes, so you can't always tell much from that anyway. And in terms of PMs, obviously we can't monitor that but if people are actually being childish enough to do that then they probably need to find something better to do with their lives. :lol

That said, I very much doubt it is actually the case.

Here is the deal.

I originally did not want the results hidden, because that is the way that it always was when it was initially done back in 2005.  However, last year there was so much "vote this song off to save that song".  The "Save/Kill Scarred" shit really pissed me off.  That did prompt me to start hiding the results.

PLM, the choice is to survive.  However, on the show, the results aren't shown until after everyone votes.  While it's strategic for them, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

When the survivor begins on Thursday, I will start hiding everything.

Also, on a different note, Raw Dog will be included in the newly named Unreleased/Singles "album".

And I think that A Change Of Seasons will automatically again enter the finals.  I mean, it just makes sense, it's in the top two every year...

Yeah, I think comparisons to the show can pretty much be rendered moot...the comparisons pretty much end in the purpose alone.
You don't see Innocence Faded beating Voices in an obstacle course to win a much-needed immunity, forcing the other songs to vote off The Mirror, because it's too much of a physical threat. Nor do you see Beyond This Life going out to fish everyday, all the while One Last Time approaches Overture 1928 about blindsiding him. And I've certainly never seen Panic Attack plead to the jury to vote for it over Octavarium because it "played the game from day one" and maybe had to betray These Walls and I Walk Beside You to get to where it is.

I could do a few more comparisons, but I think I'll stop there...

Sorry setrataeso but that analogy is just silly.

And as for hiding the results, I still don't see how hiding it will "positively" affect the results. Since splent just admitted that the 'Scarred' thing pissed him off and thus started the hiding thing... It kinda confirms what i've been saying all along...

It was still fun to come up with :P

And Splent didn't say he's on either side of the 'Scarred thing', he just implied that the debacle between the two tribes of haters and lovers was getting in the way of making the survivor fun.
At least if the results are hidden, we're not going to go through the same steps we did last year.

Just voted in my first Survivor poll (Images and Words), and I've got the idea that you pick your least favourite song. Learnt that the hard way by going straight in to one poll and voting for my favourite song, before I noticed the question.

I did tell Splent to include the rules in the OP for each round in case any new people want to get involved, but he must have either not seen my post, or ignored it. :sadpanda:

Um, the WDADU "final round" is surely not the final round, we'll still need to vote a winner after this!

If you guys want a true final round, let me know, I'll do it.  I know in years past I did, but last year I decided not to and just posted the top two as moving on to the final, for time constraints.  I don't want this to go into like the end of January like it did in 2008.  Or was it 2007?

Is there any point in a Round 1 for the Falling Into Infinity Survivor? It's almost inevitable that You Not Me would be eliminated first in such a contest.

Discuss.

My vote's going to Just Let Me Breathe.

Besides, I hate it when the OP skips the first round, assuming that everyone's going to vote for a particular song (usually the shortest).
skydivingninja did that with the Coheed survivors, and it pissed me off, since a bunch of great instrumental pieces got auto-eliminated.

So, don't skip rounds.

As a newcomer to this survivor, I'd like to ask: What songs go through to the Finals (Top 2 or just the winner), and is there a consolation round?
