Top 2 from each album go to the finals, and 3rd place goes to the consolation.

Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?

How on earth is Splent managing to keep up with all these Survivors? I'm losing track now. Has Demos/Singles had its final? Hats off to you!  :tup

Also (sorry for the questions lately; I'm a curious so-and-so), where does A Change of Seasons fit in?

You don't see Innocence Faded beating Voices in an obstacle course to win a much-needed immunity, forcing the other songs to vote off The Mirror, because it's too much of a physical threat. Nor do you see Beyond This Life going out to fish everyday, all the while One Last Time approaches Overture 1928 about blindsiding him. And I've certainly never seen Panic Attack plead to the jury to vote for it over Octavarium because it "played the game from day one" and maybe had to betray These Walls and I Walk Beside You to get to where it is.

I know it was posted a few months ago, but I would like to declare my love for this post.

That would be all. As you were...

In case anyone missed it elsewhere, I will be running the survivor on splent's behalf for the time being while he prepares to become a dad (let's face it, as much as we all love the DT survivor, some things are slightly more important :P )

The first page of this thread already had all the album results for 2009, and fortunately the first reply after splent's original posts was mine, so I've edited in all the album results for 2010 so far if anyone wants to see them without trawling back through pages and pages of threads! :)

And we're on to the finals! Just to let everyone know, the first 3 posts in this thread are now updated, the first one has all the results from the finals for the last few years, and the second and third posts have the 2009 and 2010 album results respectively.

And the results of the 2010 survivor:

1. Learning to Live
2. A Change of Seasons
3. Metropolis Pt. 1
4. Octavarium
5. Voices
6. Trial of Tears.
7. The Glass Prison
8. Home
9. Erotomania
10. Fatal Tragedy
11. Take the Time/
11. Lines in the Sand
13. Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
14. In the Name of God
15. The Count of Tuscany
16. Blind Faith
17. The Root of All Evil
18. In the Presence of Enemies
19. A Nightmare to Remember
20. Stream of Consciousness
21. The Ministry of Lost Souls
22. Ytse Jam
23. Raise the Knife
24. A Fortune in Lies
25. To Live Forever

Am happy that LtL got its first win! :D It came 2nd in the first two years of the survivor, but dropped out of the top 2 since then, so it's nice to see a return to form. On the whole I'm fairly happy with the results; there are songs that I'd have liked to do a lot better, but what can you do.

DISCUSS

P.S. I've updated the OP with the results, and also the 2nd and 3rd posts now have all the results of the album survivors from this year and last.

I'm really glad that LtL got its first win too! It's my #1 DT song so I couldn't be happier. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with the results - Six Degrees could be a little higher, and I thought the Count would be higher.

I've compiled a Spotify playlist with these in order so I can enjoy it the way DTF has voted them.

"0 tracks, no time"

Great playlist. :P

But yeah, LtL is my favourite DT song as well, never thought it would win after seeming to drop from the top 2 or 3. I would have liked to see TMOLS and TCOT do better to be honest, and there are some songs that I personally think deserve to be in the finals but never even made it at all, like Wither, Space Dye Vest and TGD. But alas, the will of the people is more important!

EDIT: Ok the playlist has updated now. :lol Yay Spotify! Yay Europe!

EDIT 2: Damn, 5 hours?! Maybe another time. :lol

My biggest complaint is that SDOIT did much worse than it should have.  After looking at previous years' results I am shocked to see that its highest placing was only #8.  SDOIT is a top 3 song.
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A. G. Sertillanges

The biggest problem with the results is that 8 and 9 should've been lower and 14 and 15 should've been higher.  imo

Ok, the update is up, 2012 will happen and WILL be completed.  I promise what happened last time won't happen again.  There WILL be a complete 2012 list by January or February.  This thing may have to be started at the beginning of June from now on.

All up and set up.

Anyways, heres a question for you.  DT has 11 albums, plus including the demos/singles, = 12 albums.  That means a top 24, and then a top 12 for the consolation song.  To make it a top 25, that means only one song from the consolation round will move on.  Do you want that, or do you want the top 6 from that round to be included to make it a top 30?  That means more songs, less arguing, more people happy.  What do you think?
