My friends new acoustic song and my sick solo for it

Hey guys, wanted to share with you my friends and mine latest creation- its an acoustic song called "Friend" and I wrote a pretty sick solo for it. We would love to hear your feedback!

This song is my first attempt to write an "optimistic" sounding solo so any feedback on that will be really appreciated.

Not sure where to place my vote. While overall it was pretty nice, the solo IMHO didn't need the shredding. I understand you're trying to show what you got, but I thought it kinda killed the mood of the song. I think a well-thought-out set of melody lines would have worked better.

The shredding is out of place in a song like this.

I don't want to nitpick but... there are no acoustic instruments in this song 

That said, I don't think the solo is out of place in the song. But it could use a bit of work. As the other two have said, some of it did seem flashy for the sake of being flashy.
