I was thinking the other day about Ryan and the lies.  First, I believe that both sides lie, and use shameful tactics.  But I was wondering how you can look at what Ryan said in his speech, and see where it is proven they are outright lies, and still love the guy.  How can candidates lie right to your face, when it is easy to show they are outright lies?  One would think that as a candidate for the POTUS or Vice POTUS, one would be VERY careful not to lie about something so public, and so easy to prove.

Then i realized.  They know that many informed people, including most in the press, and everyone else in government, will indeed see immediately and clearly that he lied.
But to the people that count...the masses that get hard-ons for their candidate and automatically hate the opponent......they just dont care.  You can show them in black and white, buit they just dont care.  So it doesnt matter if you lie, or that you are publically proven a liar.....the masses that vote just dont care.  They have chosen their side and are loyal, or just hate the other guy so much they just dont care.

Fucking sad.
This is so true no matter which side you are on. Its amazing how people turn a blind eye to lies if its the candidate they support.

Yeah, why would anyone do that to himself?

Today I saw a picture that had Michelle Obama right next to Ann Romney. Michelle wins easily, but it made me think about other presidents' wives. Laura Bush was pretty likeable too I thought. Ron Paul's wife must be one of the most bizarre ones out there.

Just watched Deval Patrick's speech, was pretty good. I definitely agree that the Dems need to start standing up for what they believe.

Quote from: mike huckabee's facebook
Who’s fact-checking the fact checkers? The latest tactic of the left is to accuse anyone who criticizes them of being wrong on the facts. Latest example: They've been doing it to Paul Ryan’s speech on Obama’s record. But Ryan got his facts right. For instance, they say a GM factory in his hometown really closed under Bush in 2008. In “fact,” it was slated for closing, but Obama promised to keep it open. It kept making trucks until April 2009, then shut down under Obama. That’s a fact. So are these: Three years into the recovery, GDP growth is 1.7 percent. Unemployment has topped 8 percent for 43 straight months. $5 trillion has been added to the debt. First time jobless claims last week were unchanged at 374,000. The point is, you can nitpick all you want about a brick in the wall being slightly askew. But that doesn’t knock down the wall.

For more of the Huckabee Report, visit MikeHuckabee.com.

facts are pretty much subjective (sorry for taking so long with the response)

That GM plant in question was the centerpiece of my hometown's economy.  The situation is a lot more complex than simply being shut down or opened during who's term.  It's still not exactly closed, but it's also dormant.  Ryan wasn't as outright false as he was made out to be on the issue, and I do feel bad for initially being pissed at his comment regarding the issue.  The thing is, the picture is more complicated than to just condemn it as a broken promise, Obama said many things about keeping the plant open, but he didn't make many promises.  His speech made it seem like he would help keep things going for the community, when he apparently never really had an intention to do so.  It was just a hollow positive speech to get votes.  That's annoying and I can see Ryan calling him out on that, but not to outright condemn him.  Maybe the plant will reopen under Obama, nobody in the community, that I know, is holding their breath on the issue, we assume it's dead for good.

Jews. Now everyone's talking all Jerusalem, like it's the biggest question of the century. Same as birth control last week, and gay marriage the month before.

And speaking of which, I thought you all might find this interesting:

His speech echoed even here in Italy, our journalists called it outstanding, effective and at times moving.

What did he say precisely? It's not really common to achive such an accolade over here...

If we didn't have term limits on the Presidency, I firmly believe that Bill Clinton would probably still be holding that office.

I voted for Clinton twice. He is surely a powerful speaker. The democrats obviously hail him as there Reagan. They wish he was running again so they wouldn't have to endure 4 more years of Obama.

I think he did Obama a huge favor being so complimentary about a guy I believe he still really doesn't like all that much. Give Clinton credit for being even more charismatic than Obama is.

Clinton said last night..."No president could have fixed the mess he was left in 3 1/2 years. No one. Not even me."

Quite modest don't ya think? He realizes he is a God like figure to the Democrats. He plays it for all its worth.

I give Clinton credit. No one can fire up a base like he can.

I actually wouldn't mind 4 more years of Obama, followed by 4 more years of Clinton. And perhaps Hillary Clinton after that.

We wish he was running again because he has a proven record of accomplishment, not any angst against Obama.

Also, did you actually listen to his speech?  He quite articulately and accurately described the whole political atmosphere and why it is important for Obama to keep his position.  If you are going to "give him credit," then give him credit for knowing what he is talking about.

Guess what. If Clinton was running instead of Obama he would win easily over Romney. He also would be ahead in the polls. You don't think so, think again.

If you ask me, it's pretty simple:  Tick dislikes Obama so much that he has invented a universe where everybody, even those who agree with him fundamentally, also hates Obama.
