Crap, sorry guys I just realized my inbox was full, so Orcus's song might not have gone through (if he sent it) and this delay is probably entirely my fault T___________T

Well, if he was sending it, wouldn't he have gotten the error message of your inbox being full?  Wouldn't he have posted here to say your box was full?

You know those stair lifts for old people... yeah, they move faster than this roulette.   :lol

Round 3 Results! (finally)

This was a weird round, and I'm still not sure how I feel about the scores in the end. Alas, the show must go on. As a side note, 'noises/voices inside heads' seemed to be a very common theme, with two song titles and related lyrics in a few other songs.

Nekov: Von Hertzen Brothers - Voices in Our Head

AWESOME song. The first half was pretty catchy and groovy, but then the second part came out of nowhere and totally blew me away. Especially when the main melody from the first part kicked back in. I'd never even heard of these guys, but I definitely have to check them out now.

Music: 4/4
Relevance: 3/4
Total: 7/8

jingle.boy: Deep Purple - Kentucky Woman

Hmm, not really my bag honestly. It wasn't a bad song by any means - I wouldn't change the station if it came on the radio, but I can't really see myself ever voluntarily putting it on. Partly it was the rather thin production, and part of it was just the kind of plodding jam band vibe it gave off.

Music: 2/4
Relevance: 3/4
Total: 5/8

Lonestar: The Deadstation - Anything But This, Anywhere But Here

Really cool song. The kick drums especially stood out. I feel like it was harmed by it's relatively short length, but it's all the more reason to check out the rest of the EP. Also, excellent review of it :tup

Music: 3/4
Relevance: 3/4
Total: 6/8

LieLow: Chiasm - Phobic

Cool song. I've heard Chiasm before, but not a ton so it's all good. Either way, I don't really have anything additional to add, I've gotten a ton of EBM this roulette and it's all be really good.

Music: 3/4
Relevance: 3/4
Total: 6/8

ClairvoyantCat: Bad Rabbits - Can't Back Down

Man, this was so far away from what I would have expected from you I have no idea what to say :lol Either way, it was a really fun song, and like you said I can definitely see how it would be awesome live, especially the sing-alongish end. The lyrics didn't seem to be very relevant, but the music was so goddamned groovy it doesn't matter.

Music: 3/4
Relevance: 4/4
Total: 7/8

orcus: AA Bondy - Killed Myself When I was Young

Good song. It reminded me of Bright Eyes a lot, lyrics included. The guitars at the end really added a lot too. There wasn't anything that really blew me away, but it's enough to spark my interest.

Music: 3/4
Relevance: 3/4
Total: 6/8

Rich: Bizali - Nothing to Lose

Holy fucking aweseomsauce. Fantastic intrumentation, great singer, and insanely fun music. It even had some topical lyrics alongside being energetic as hell. Definitely one of the few submissions that was really relevant musically speaking. I NEED this album right meow, how do I get it?

Music: 4/4
Relevance: Dance/4
Total: 8/8

Ravenheart: Assemblage 23 - The Noise Inside My Head

Pretty much in the same vein as the other stuff you've sent, not that I'm complaining. Highly relevant lyrics as well.

Music: 3/4
Relevance: 4/4
Total: 7/8

Current Rankings:

Nekov: 15+7=22
ClairvoyantCat: 13+7 = 20
Rich: 12+8=20
Lonestar: 13+6=19
orcus: 12+6=18
Ravenheart: 11+7=18
jingle.boy: 12+5=17
LieLow: 10+6=16

I knew you would like it. By the way, the name of the song is Voices in our heads, Stars aligned is the album  :P (-1 point for correcting the roulette owner?)

Thanks for the props on my review, I was pretty proud of that one myself. The whole thing is available for free on their bandcamp page, and I'm in the process of an interview with them right now, should be up on Nem's zine  within a few weeks. The ep is fucking awesome though, that song is just a bit of it, gotta hear the whole thing.

FUCK YEAH!

Knew you'd dig it, I was just waiting for a round to be able to send it and then you (or fate) gave me the perfect theme. You can get the album on iTunes, it's called Thanks Anna, although it doesn't have that bonus song, or the cool intro track, as those were on a pre-release preview version of the album I got from them when I saw them live one time.
