Ok, I've come to the conclusion that if I want the wrapped up anywhere close to the end of the year, or at least early into 2013, I'm going to have to run 3 categories at a time.  Hopefully nobody has an issue with that.  If so, tough shit.  I don't want to be doing this for the next 8 months!  And I'm not exaggerating.  With that, let's bring JR into the mix.

Top two move on to the Finals.  There will be a consolation round for the 3rd and 4th place finishers in all categories.  If you don't see one that you think should be there, hang tight... the instrumental wankery category is still to come.  And JR likes to wank on the keys.

You know, I remember someone commenting last time around on a time-stamp discrepancy, and I even verified it against my CD.  Seems as though there are some versions out there slightly off.  Even from the YT bootleg (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAKlvNKlR3A) video, it starts at 16:15.  Now that I think about it... perhaps the clarification is that I'm NOT referring to LSFNY, but the Ytse Jam bootleg, Live in NYC '93.

Trial of Tears was in the Instrumental Wankery category.

was done just before BCSL, hence the inclusion this time around of the best solo's from BCSL

I would argue that BC&SL doesn't have a single great keyboard solo worthy of being in the top 10 here.  Rudess has plenty of great solos, but none on that album.

Besides, the solo in The Shattered Fortress is waaaaay more wanky than the one in Trial of Tears, so if one of them had to go here and the other there, I would have done it the other way.  And I wouldn't describe the Trial of Tears as wanky, relatively speaking by DT's standards.

True enough. In hindsight, the TOT section is really made up of a bass groove, a keyboard solo, and a guitar solo. And by 'wankery', it's just the word I used to describe a 3+ minute instrumental section.
