So, Visions (the song) won this thing, knocking out Celestial Elixir with three times as many votes. Overall I think the results are pretty good, with not many surprising things. Celestial Elixir is my personal favourite, followed by Deathless and Visions, so I can relate to the top 3. The only things I had difficulty with are the low placements of Eternal Rain and Drowning in the Flood on Aquarius and the last spot for Portals. Also, Streams as a top 3 song on Aquarius is just wrong (imho), as I think it's one of the lesser songs.

Anyway, this thread is here to discuss the results, the outcome of this survivor. Thanks to all the voters and if I may, I'll do something like this again when they have their third record out. I enjoyed doing it as well

The Aquarius results are not near how I would put them, Visions results are pretty good.

And the final results are great, that is the top stuff from Haken.

Drowning in the Flood should be #1 in the entire survivor.
Aquarium should have beat Nocturnal Conspiracy.
Most other things are pretty okay though, not going to complain about the top 3 at all despite a lack of Drowning in the Flood.

Yeah, I agree with what was said. Streams should have been the first song to go from Aquarius, actually - even Sun is better. And Drowning in the Flood should have been in the finals.

Can you guys please explain why? Not that Haken has any bad songs, but I don't see how Streams could be one's favourite. This is not meant in a negative way, I'm just curious

In my case, I find the song to be uplifting, I really like the melodies and how the main riffs contrast with the chorus, the instrumental is pretty good, the songs shifts a lot with the growl section and the one afterwards yet it never loses it's essence and I trully love the vocal arrangements they add after the instrumental.

I suck at explaining why I like certain songs, but the verses are so melodic and uplifting. I really love it, can't express it better than Nekov.

Deathless will always be my favorite, but I'm happy with Visions standing triumphantly at the top, as it is an amazing feat altogether. I knew that the longer songs would place at the top, but I'm overjoyed to see the unanimous love for Deathless; hopefully Haken has it in them to make songs like that in the future.

The thing about Deathless is that it is just so much different than anything they've really done before (aside from the 2nd half of Nocturnal Conspiracy, kind of) that it is a breath of fresh air-- though, a sad one at that. I definitely think Haken will experiment more with this on their 3rd full length.

Streams is fantastic but I think they should've kept the tone they used for the verses (IMO the best part of the song) as they had an uplifting feel, and the chorus tried to contrast that but ultimately didn't have much of an effect
