Flypaper

Never heard of it, but it came out in 2011, stars Patrick Dempsey, Ashley Judd, and a whole bunch of those character actors that you'd recognize right away if even you don't always know their names.

Funniest movie I've seen in a long, long time.  Takes maybe ten minutes to set up, then things take off and it's easily a laugh a minute from then until the end of the movie.  It's one of those flicks you're better off seeing from the beginning so you know what's going on, because it's insane.  Not a lot of plot twists, but a few, and mostly it's just crazy, silly fun.  No slapstick, just a conflagaration of characters and situations that lead to a lot of really funny lines.  The script is perfect, the timing and directing are perfect, the acting and the characters are perfect.

Highly recommended.

Just saw Lost in Translation. Pretty damn good and very honest film. I really enjoyed it and it was definitely thought provoking.

So I saw a pretty insane/fascinating movie the other day called Enter the Void. The whole film is a first person POV out of body experience from guy who is dying and his soul is floating around. Pretty wild stuff.

I watched Pirates: Band of Misfits with my daughter last night.  It was funnier than I was expecting.

I wanna see that. I love those British claymations. Ahh, childhood with Wallace and Gromit.

Edit: By the way, any DTF reviews yet of The Possession?

Saw Margaret tonight. Literally the only positive thing I can say for this movie is Anna Paquin topless. The only thing. I am however still going to be reviewing it on my blog, if only to finally have a review up there that is actually negative on a movie.

Also bumped to ask again about anyone having seen The Possession. It's a movie I'm on the fence about and would like an average Joe's opinion.

Saw Daredevil the other night, because I felt I had to out of my loyalty to Marvel (still putting off The Punisher movies and Electra).

Well it was quite a terrible movie, though Ben Affleck wasn't as bad as Matt Murdock as I had expected. Also it was nice to see Ben Urich and Bullseye get some screentime, even if their characters were pretty off.

Great movie. I remember seeing it for the first time, and it was a great moment.

I just saw The Watch, which was pretty nice. Sure, the storyline was very predictable and very much of a dead horse already, but the crude humour made up for it - that, and it featured some pretty cool actors, my favourite being Jonah Hill.

Great quote from the movie (they are currently discussing the recently formed neighborhood watch and their motivation for participating):

"I really want to do something for the community."
"That's nice. So, next..."
"Though I'd also like to fulfil a fantasy of mine. The scenario: a hot, preferably Asian chick hears a noise. She calls the neighborhood watch, and I go there, all dressed up sharp. And guess what happens then."
"..."
"She sucks my balls."

Finally saw Meloncholia.

I put this off for a long time cause I heard it was pretty much the most depressing movie ever.

Well..........I didn't find it very depressing. However I did find it to be one of the most beautiful movies (not just visually) that I have ever seen and really loved it.

Cowboys & Aliens
This movie was decent, but I didn't give a single solitary fuck about any of the characters. They all could have died and I would have been cool with it. 4/10

Deep Impact
Although the general story was the same as the crapfest Armageddon, Deep Impact had me choked up a few times because I actually cared about the characters. Acting was top notch and Morgan Freeman. That's all, just Morgan Freeman. It's funny, earlier in the movie when Jenny's mom is dressing herself up nice, I was thinking, "this character has barely been in the movie, They're trying too hard for me to care for her", but then when Jenny gets the call that her mom died (suicide) I nearly cried because it was the main character Jenny I was feeling for. It sucks that Armageddon is the more popular movie and most people think Deep Impact is boring, but I think that's because they don't "get" it. 10/10

Good movie - very bizarre, was right up my alley.

So, I got Titanic on BluRay today - they even cleaned up the deleted scenes as much as they could.  Didn't watch the whole movie, will probably do that later on this weekend.

Re-watched the first two Beverly Hills Cop movies. They reminded me just how far Eddie Murphy has fallen in the past decade or so.

That's what happens when you get caught with an ugly hooker.  I do miss his edgy movies.

As you'll quickly find watching it, this scene is only one of many, many reasons to watch and enjoy Woody Allen.

I read that him sneezing wasn't scripted. But I just can't believe it. Without the sneeze.....there's really no scene.
