Best poll is best. ive been watching a lot of older videos and more recently, Score. And JLB looks much more badass with out the Goatee. Maybe im just associating his hairless face to the phenomenal singing on Score and past performances. But im just curious which you guys like better.  :yarr

EDIT: .. man i WOULD pick the best picture of JLB with his goatee...  :lol

I think he looks sort of holy without the facial hair.  Look at that first picture and tell me a halo wouldn't complete it.

I think he looked his best around Systematic Chaos. When he had the thin goatee and his hair was straightened. Totally badass. Minus the puckering:

When he was younger, no facial hair and his long hair made him badass.

Now that he is older, goatee and long hair is badass  :metal

Maybe this is just my way of justifying the fact that James cut his hair, but I think his hair was at least long-ish during the start of the September US tour! Certainly not short though  :-\

No you're right, it wasn't nearly as bad as it was back in January 2011.

With goatee, easily. I think his showmanship improved immensely since he's grown the beard, and if he ever decided to shave it, that just wouldn't be it for me anymore, I seriously couldn't take him seriously.  :lol

He has long, full, beautiful hair of which I am insanely jealous, but to me that makes him look like Fabio or some kind of male model.  The kind of guy that insecure men call "gay" even though there's no homosexuality even hinted at; it's because they know that the girls love that shit and they wish they had awesome hair like that, too.  And yeah, because it looks kinda gay.

But... add facial hair and you have a serious fucking badass look.  Come on, folks, it's between "fucking badass" and "pretty boy".

the only way i could see JLB pulling off somewhat of a full beard is if it was shapped perfectly to line his jaw. like that thin line type deal.

If it was still 1991 then I would say no Goatee, but as of today I think he looks better with the Goatee.

Just in case anyone's wondering, here's how everyone looks with goatees. Except Jordan Rudess, because his beard's about as goaty as you can get. I've also thickened John Myung's eyebrows, so he doesn't look ridiculous.

"Oh, you know, a bit of this, a bit of that, mooched about on Facebook for a bit, photoshopped beards onto the clean shaven members of Dream Theater, had lunch..."
