Funny you say that. Kim Mitchell is the afternoon DJ on the best local Classic Rock station here, and does a segment called "DAMN! I wish I wrote that". That's all. Just a coincidence.

I'll keep it in mind with my remaining listens.

Kim Mitchell is pretty damn good.  I've heard a little bit of Max Webster and it was pretty decent.  I don't know that much about him and should check out his work more.

I thought most people would at least be familiar with the name.

I liken him to a Canadian version of Jimmy Buffet. Not really ALL of the USA is endeared with Buffet but there are a couple states where the guy is a god. Same with Kim. He's big time Candiana. Like the Tragically Hip, or the Northern Pikes.

He played at my University when I was a freshman.  His concerts are legendary.  He still plays some bars/outdoor festivals every now and then. 

Side note... Mitchell did some of the guitar work on Elements of Persuasion.  Put that in your pipe and smoke it.  :hat

Damn I saw The Northern Pikes open up for Peter Frampton.  They were great live.  Love the album, Snow In June.
