Let it be known, that while Addicted is great Friday music, it is also great "survived 3 exams in three hours" celebration music.

It's also great "fuck revision Imma go listen to Devvy" music as well.

For those that don't frequent Devy's forums, pre-orders for "By A Thread" have been popping up.
I don't know if there will be some special package for Omerch and CMDistro but I'm hoping.

Play.com Pre-order https://www.play.com/Music/CD/4-/31690545/By-A-Thread-Live-in-London-2011/Product.html?searchstring=devin+townsend&searchsource=0&searchtype=allproducts&urlrefer=search

Amazon.co.uk Pre-order https://www.amazon.co.uk/By-Thread-Devin-Project-Townsend/dp/B007Y57NWM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1335880681&sr=8-1

I'm in the US so I'm pre-ordering it from Amazon.co.uk for right now(since they don't charge until shipping) just in case there is no special package for the official stores. For shipping to the US and VAT removed, the price came to $66.04!
Here is the information for all of the discs from Play.com

Never really listened to anything from Devin before.  I have Addicted! waiting for me in the mailbox today.  Hopefully that is a good place to start.

What should I be listening for, besides awesomeness?  How would you characterize that album vs his other work?

Addicted is more catchy and instantly likable than the majority of his other work, so you should have no problem liking it almost immediately, if you are destined to become a Devin fan that is. ;)

Indeed.

Also, protip: The album title has no exclamation point. The songs do.

I really couldn't care less about the CDs, but I guess it would be cool to have a live version of each of the albums just to mix things up a bit.

Just edited my original post to include a better description with play times for each track.
So we got a little over 6.5 hours of visual content from the DVDs if you don't count Devy's commentary during each concert, and about 5.5 hours of content from the CDs.
I'm guessing the visual quality is top notch and the audio has little compression since there is not much data packed onto each disc.

Does anyone else think that Traestorz is not only one of the best songs from the entire DTP, but one of Devin's best songs ever?

On that note, I think the last four minutes would be awesome to use at Devin shows as the introductory music while crazy Devin images and whatnot appear on a big screen behind the stage.  And just when the song is ending and fading away, Devin and his band come on stage and start blasting away with the first song of the concert, and the crowd is already pumped up from the awesome build-up of Traestorz and the images on the screen. :metal :metal

You know, I still wish he did Juno as an encore for the Addicted show, that would have been nothing short of incredible.

Anywho, can't wait for the release of this, been wanting to have some live recordings of DTP songs, and now we get that + actual video recordings of ALL OF THEM.

YES.

ALSO, LIVE PUNKY BRUSTER.

Obviously I want NTSC region 1. Where do I go to order that?

Pre-order just came up for the US version of the "By A Thread" Boxset on Amazon. Obviously it is still quite early, so there will be price fluctuations but still a great price.

So I went to those pre-order places, are they PAL versions? NTSC? Region 1? 2?

Obviously I want NTSC region 1. Where do I go to order that?

Pre-order just came up for the US version of the "By A Thread" Boxset on Amazon. Obviously it is still quite early, so there will be price fluctuations but still a great price.

Amazon takes awhile to get accurate descriptions of items.
Here is more info about the US version of the Boxset.

Ordered. Will probably switch over to the CMDistro one when it inevitably becomes available for $45.00.
Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?
LOOK AT THIS AWESOME SHIT AHHHHHH

...has the worst mixing of any song I've ever heard that pretty much ruins an otherwise amazing song.

You should probably start running. I think I can already hear Ultimetalhead running wildly towards this thread, chainsaw in hand.
I felt its length in quite a few places.
