All of Terria and Addicted. Ziltoid has a certain feel to hit but it misses the grandiose that I find in Terria and Addicted.

I just like the "big" feeling that comes with a lot of Devin's music and I think the "big" feeling is missing on a lot of Decon. There are moments where it is pure ecstasy but then there are parts where there's just too much shit going on so it loses its "big" feel. That is why I'm looking forward to Epicloud so much.
dude what

If Decon doesnt give you the "Fucking Huge" feeling, i dont know what else can give you that.

No I get what he's saying. He just has a different definition of big. I think part of that definition involves slower music. When the music is 10000 miles second, the bigness that he is referring to can easily get lost.

Yeah man. I mean, listen to Juno or Numbered or Stagnant and tell me they aren't BIG. Like, in a grandiose way that all of Decon isn't.

It is official, today is Devy day. Just listened to Decon and now I'm on Ki. I'm going to listen to Terria and Addicted before the day is out.

I still don't follow. With the obvious exceptions (slow parts of PTL, Stand, and the transition from Sumeria to Masturbator), the entire album has the same level of grandiose that I get from any of the above listed songs.

Nah, I mean, there are select parts in Stand, Planet, almost all of Sumeria, and Masturbator, but for the most part, I don't get the level of grandiosity as most of Terria and Addicted.

One thing I'll concede on. Supercrush! is the "biggest" song he's ever done, and I'm really excited to see if anything on Epicloud beats it.

I would disagree and say it's Numbered! but I totally see where you are coming from and I'm expecting most of the stuff on Epicloud to beat it which is why I'm so damn excited for it.

As long as the rest of the album stands up to Back Where We Belong, I think it has serious potential.

Can't wait to hear the re-recorded Kingdom ungfffffffffffffffffff

I'm kinda annoyed Epicloud which seems like it's gonna be a perfect "summer" album will be coming out after summer... then again I live in Florida.

Also. Deconstruction is a perfect 10/10 flawless masterpiece any differing views will lead me to immediately dismiss all of ones musical opinions.

Well, Planet of the Apes is the second best song on the album, so that's probably why.

I noticed you misspelled best there. I fixed it for you. :)

Instead of make the sentence incomprehensible, could you show me tabs for the Deconstruction album please?  :)

I think Pandemic just isn't interesting to me, especially after the craziness of Masturbator, more of a breather would have been nice, though I understand why there wasn't such a thing there because, y'know, Deconstruction.  Had Ho Krll replaced it I would be singing a much different tune.

Oh, and here's the objectively correct list:
Addicted
Ocean Machine
Ki
Terria
Ghost
Ziltoid
Synchestra
Deconstruction
Accelerated Evolution
Infinity
Physicist

Those first seven are perfect to me (with Addicted being one of my favorite albums by anyone ever).

The only thing that could follow up the AMEN is the audio brick to the face that is Pandemic. i farted

And Ho Krill being on the album would have hurt it.

Deconstruction is great, but I am not fond of Pandemic or Poltergeist, but that shouldn't surprise anyone who knows me since I am not a big fan of crazy fast metal like those songs are.  I suspect the Devin fans who love SYL love those songs.  I can see the appeal for those kinds of metal fans, but they just don't do anything for me.

Addicted is better.  :tup :tup
Addicted is superb, but it doesnt even touch the quality of Decon.
Decon is harder to swallow though, thats for sure.

Except that it not only touches it, it surpasses it. :)
Well, each one has its own opinions.
I still think Decon is superior.
Maybe you havent listened enough time to fully swallow it?

I have listened to it a ton.  Maybe you haven't listened to Addicted enough. :)

Hey Justin, I figured you of all people would know this...

How much does Devin make? Like, really? Does he support himself enough to live a decent life in Canada? If he stopped this very instant for ever, would he be begging for quarters in a few years?

I could never grasp the monetary details of musicians who played to less than 400 people a night.

I think he makes just enough to get by.
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

It also probably helps that SYL gave him a fair bit of cash, and "Love?" probably still gets played on the radio (I think it was licensed to be used on some horror movie soundtrack a while ago), so that should give him some cash.  He has mentioned losing money in the US though, so maybe Europe gives him more income (not unheard of).

Yeah, it's weird how that works. I know Spock's Beard said the same thing a few years ago.

He definitely makes more money from the European crowd. He is largely ignored around here and in Canada though. Can't say I'm too upset about though, because as long as he's cool playing tiny little clubs, I'll be there soaking up every second.

SYL was more of a cashcow, but still nothing extravagant. Overall, I'd put it right about where Sigz put it: Comfortably, but modestly.

Attempting to learn the whole Deconstruction album on guitar.
So far I've completed Praise the Lowered, Stand, most of Juular, and Poltergeist.

Onto Sumeria...

Want tabs. Now.
yes this do this please

also
relevant discussion:
Terria and Ziltoid are better than Deconstruction
Ghost is also amazing but I don't dare compare it to the rest of his material in that way
