If it wasn't for Scarred, the last half of Awake would have been the best album. That's what the cassette is for though..

I actually like every song up until Lie. Lie is the beginning of the end for me. And well I've already summed up my thoughts on Lie earlier. :lol

Well, your THOUGHTS are a lie!

WD&DU: Afterlife / The Ones Who Help to Set the Sun
I&W: Wait for Sleep / Learning to Live
Awake: Scarred / Space-Dye Vest
FII: Hell's Kitchen / Lines in the Sand

SFAM: Overture 1928 / Strange Deja Vu
6DOIT: The Glass Prison / Blind Faith
TOT: Endless Sacrifice / Honor Thy Father
Octavarium: Sacrificed Sons / Octavarium
SC: ITPOE1 / Forsaken
BC&SL: A Nightmare to Remember / A Rite of Passage
ADTOE: Breaking All Illusions / Beneath the Surface
Updated the ones in bold and added ADTOE.
Picking anything but The Mirror/Lie for Awake just seems so wrong to me. Then again, a lot of people dislike Lie.
What about Scarred and Space-Dye Vest? That's one hell of a one-two punch as well although they don't flow into each other!

That's the kind of thing I need to call it a one-two punch :) otherwise, anything involving SDV wins by default, for me.

Holy thread bump Batman!

I was looking for something else and came across this thread and thought with two albums having come out since the last post, it would be interesting to see what peoples one-two punch is for DT12 and TA as well as to see if anyone's one-two punch for the previous 11 albums changed.

When Dream and Day Unite: Afterlife/The Ones Who Help to Set the Sun
Images and Words: Wait for Sleep/Learning to Live
Awake: 6:00/Caught in a Web
Falling Into Infinity: Hell's Kitchen/Lines in the Sand
Scenes From a Memory: Home/The Dance of Eternity
Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence: The Glass Prison/Blind Faith
Train of Thought: Vacant/Stream of Consciousness
Octavarium: Panic Attack/Never Enough (the title track is strong enough that SS/8vm could also work here)
Systematic Chaos: The Ministry of Lost Souls/In the Presence of Enemies Pt. II
Black Clouds & Silver Linings: The Best of Times/The Count of Tuscany
A Dramatic Turn of Events: Breaking All Illusions/Beneath the Surface
Dream Theater: Along for the Ride/Illumination Theory
The Astonishing: Dystopian Overture/The Gift of Music

Also the covers part of ACOS, the transition of In The Flesh to Carry On My Wayward Son is outstanding!
