Hopefully the video was just filmed while the visa issues were happening.

Fantastic EP though. Bunch of different flavors.

Really hope not since Omega and Papa were the two main songwriters, and one of the other voices of the band in interviews and a funny guy.

We'll find out soon enough. I think it was Visa issues though. Great EP though! Really enjoyed Missionary Man.

Read that someone saw Omega at a Great Discord show and he said he would be back with them at some point, but gave no specifics

No big set list changes this time around. They opened with Square Hammer. No Omega and apparently have a female bass player now.

What I'm guessing is that Omega is taking a cycle off...at least one of them has very young kids, and the constant touring has got to be a huge strain on the families.  So, staying close to home, working on TID, getting personal life back on an even keel.

Also, have discovered TID as a result of this...like a more metal MCC, with black metal vocals (which I'm not a huge fan of, but they aren't terribly obtrusive).

Oh yeah, I forgot that one of them had kids. There was an interview where one of his kids ran up to him. It was a written interview, but still funny.

T.I.D. is pretty good. Isn't essentially every member of Magna Carta Cartel except Tobias? I know Arvid Persner plays drums on the first Ghost album, but never toured with them.

A snippet of Square Hammer played in the background while they were about to go to a commercial break during MNF last night.

Well, it looks like Omega officially left the band and under bad circumstances apparently. He did an unmasked little blurb about Magna Carta Cartel coming back, which I'm excited about. It was weird to see him speak without a mask

Too bad, though it kind of makes me wonder if the rumors about rotating line-ups have been true all along.

I'm seeing them in a month or so. Let's hope whatever new band will be playing is as good as the old line-up was. Though for all we know, this could be a big publicity stunt yet again.

It is true that they rotate out members. The bass players have changed, the drummer changed. Martin and Papa and the other guitarist were the main people.

Martin was always one of my favorites in interviews. He was hilarious and always seemed really nice.

I think the firing the whole band thing this time around is a gimmick, but we'll see

I miss the days where the identities of the Ghouls didn't matter and it was all about the music. But I guess all this attention is to be expected as their popularity has skyrocketed in the past few years. It's kinda ruined the mystery of the band for me  :-\
On one hand, I'm a little disappointed. Meliora was such a strong album and I'd love to see another album featuring that lineup. On the other hand, the lineup has changed with every album so it shouldn't be a surprise. If Papa really writes all the music, then I guess it really doesn't matter.

I think this falls in line with the mythos of the band. In some past interviews they've mentioned that Papa IV will be the father of the previous three, and he's not too happy that they're spending less time spreading the word of Satan and more time on becoming "popstars" (hence the Popestar EP). So I guess he's in charge now and he's kicked out everybody else.
Assuming all that's true, I think we can expect the next album to be a bit darker.

That Chop Suey cover is really creative  :lol I like it!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOXj7HeaajU

It looks like there is truth to new Ghouls. The keyboard player is different (more keyboards and he sits down), drummer, and guitarists. I don't really care, but a few of the songs live sound off. Absolution, like I posted above, doesn't sound tight. If you look through some of the videos, a lot of comments seem to mention the fact that the band doesn't sound like it used to. I'm sure over the course of the next few shows things will sound better.

A better example would be Pinnacle to the Pit. That intro sounds off.

It'll still be well worth going. They are incapable of putting on a bad show. Even though some of the things I've seen don't seem up to par, it'll never be a bad show. Every time I've seen them it's been different people and I've never been let down

Well, this is disappointing. I mean I enjoy Meliora, but am not a huge Ghost fan or anything, I just see the general attitude that led to this as disappointing. I mean it's kinda hard not to expect it when you call your band mates nameless ghouls, but to insist that you can change people and nothing is going to change is just silly.

Sometimes change is needed, and for the better, but just come out and say that then, don't bullshit me and tell me that you can fire an entire band, replace them, and in the end all that was to achieve... nothing.

I'm not too thrilled about the drastic shifts in the line up. There's no way the style of the band won't be influenced by the change, but whether the quality of the music will be influenced is yet to be seen. Personally, I jumped on board a year after the release of Infestisumam and was really looking forward to Meliora, which I found to be their creative peak. Maybe that's what it will remain. And I wouldn't be disappointed.

Ghost was never meant to be a permanent thing. I think I remember reading during the Infestissumum press tours that they have five albums planned out and that beyond that they didn't know, but that it wasn't gonna be career band. And like I've said before, they change members constantly, the guitarist and singer were the only constants. But now it's just the singer. They best band to me was the one they had at the beginning of the Meliora tour. Apparently he disagrees.

I'm excited though to see them, they've never put on a bad show and are fun to see.

Yeah man, that band with Alpha and Omega and the new keyboardist in it was frigging Smokin'. The absolutely killed it during those first tours.
All must not have been well behind the scenes. Such a shame. Still going to see them on the 6th, though.

Great premise, if true.

Also, what happened to the lead guitarist? He was the one that seemed to demonstrate some uniqueness. Good chops and a better ear.

The lead or rhythm? Both were fantastic with songwriting and their tones.

Martin went and reformed Magna Carta Cartel which featured most of the original members of Ghost before they became Ghost

Simon is in a band called Priest I believe as well as Time Is Divine which also has Martin and the original Ghost drummer and I believe one of their old keyboard players as well. It's rumored that he is also going to be in Magna Carta Cartel, which he used to be in pre-Ghost as well.

Lead guitarist. Always seemed to have some nicely melodic solos. I was just wondering if he was also gone, and apparently he is. Shame.

Both guitarists are gone, afaik. Alpha ánd Omega. Bassplayer was already gone and so is Air. From what I can see so far, the drummer seems to be the only one still in place. And Papa, off course.
