26. Converge - Jane Doe
What many call the epitome of Convege's sound, I tend to agree, it is an that is monumental, not only for metalcore, but for metal as a whole. Decibel Magazine said it was an album that had scene teenagers with their hair all colorful to the most kvlt of black metallers connecting to, and I think that's a pretty good sum of it's reach to listeners. It's a vicious fucker of an album, and even more so than number 27, it is an exercise for the listener, and tough to finish, but it's an album worth the workout. By this point in their discography, Jacob Bannon became harder to understand, which can be a pitfall for some, but for me, he's just sounding angrier, and I find it for the better. A lot of you also may know who Kurt Ballou is, he's the guitarist for Converge, and with every album, he rights amazing riffs and his solos are just incredible, but not so many of you may know that he produces many bands albums these days, and is in quite popular demand. Back to the album anyways, eheh. Most of the songs are short bursts of anger and shake you like you're a helpless baby, where as the title track is a slower paced, crushing song. If you're a fan of bands such as Trap Them, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Integrity, and A Life Once Lost, and you haven't listened to Converge for some odd reason, give them a try, and find out how radular they are.
