The band shot a new music video a few days ago in Poland for one of the two singles, "Flag in the Ground."

You can also hear some snippets of the single in the background. It sounds like a cool mix of their older stuff and Unia...but it sounds a lot like an Irish kickdance song or something

I really liked that. I can't really notice much Unia influence at all. It kinda reminds me of "Victoria's Secret".

The Unia influence I got was from some of his vocal stylings in the verses. I liked Henkka's solo too.

It has the Victoria's secret feel definitely. Then again, this will make probably their 3rd happy song.

Dragonforce are coming to a local venue for me actually, we are going purely for the lulz, it better be worth it.

Someone recorded SA playing the first single, The Last Amazing Grays at their open air festival in their hometown.

The quality sucks, of course, but I have definitely heard worse as far as cell phone cameras go.

Tommy is a pretty uncreative drummer, I don't really like his stuff too much. But so much else is going on that I can sort of tone him out.

my friend who has drummed for ~8 months can do more than Tommy. What baffles me is why he doesn't try to improve or anything, it's lucky (as you said) that you can ignore it most of the time with all the other awesome.

To be honest it seems to me that a lot of power metal bands skimp on the drummer

I think he mostly tries to focus on double bass patterns and stuff, because most of the kick stuff he does during verses is sort of cool. But other than that I think he has never really had an interesting fill of any kind.

But one thing that I love is that Henkka can always write memorable keyboard solos.

I like that live clip of the new song..It sounds like Some Unia goodness. Yeah SA has some of the most boring drumming but the keyboards/Kakko's vocals make the band. Imagine Kakko in DT today? That would be interesting.

I remember one of the things I asked him when I met him was, "If you could, would you smash a keytar at every show?"

His response was along the lines of, "Well, on the DVD, I just sort of did that kind of out of nowheres. And no one is really making them anymores, I think I maybe have about maybe five or something. Well, it's, you never know."

He's said in interviews that lately he's been choosing to sing in a voice that's more "natural" to him. And he really has been loving his own shouting choir backing vocals lately.

Really? How do you know this?

I read a few recent interviews with Tony not too long ago, and he said that they originally wrote it around the same time as the first song Tony wrote for the band, "Letter to Dana." They planned to record it as a bonus track, but later re-worked it (changing lyrics, etc.) and the label made it their music video single.

Although there seems to be no sound in the second half of the single edit.

Sounds good though, and Flag in the Ground sounds nice, pretty straightforward SA fare really.
