So, who else is going to this fantastic festival next weekend? Night of the Prog is a progressive rock festival in Germany. Taken directly from the website: "Next to the music and bands that have taken part at the various festival editions, the main reason for the success is simply the location! The UNESCO world heritage Loreley (GERMANY) is one of the most outstanding Open Air Amphitheaters in Europe. High above the river Rhine, the visitors are overwhelmed by the beautiful view of the surrounding area."

Having been there last year I can say it was an amazing experience, as well as an amazing line-up. This year's line-up is good as well, featuring the following bands:

Saturday 07. July 2012 Get In 11.30 h

Hasse Fröberg & The Musical Companion 12.00 h
Enochian Theory 13.15 h
Airbag 14.45 h
Sylvan 16.30 h
Arena 18.10 h
Spock's Beard 20.00 h
Saga 22.00 h
End     23.30 h

Sunday 08. July 2011 Get In 11.30 h

Frequency Drift12.00 h
Lazuli 13.30 h
Haken 15.30 h
The Flower Kings 17.10 h
Katatonia 19.00 h
Steve Hackett 21.00 h
End 23 h

So, DTF, who else is going there next weekend? I'll be going there with my best friend and I'll stay and the campsite to fully enjoy the weekend. Might be I'll see you there :)

Damn... I'd love to come, but it's my grandma's birthday, so that's a problem... I'd love to see Haken, Steve Hackett and Katatonia, though.

Looks absolutely beautiful here. I saw some pics and vids of Dream Theater playing here last year, looks like an amazing setting. I would love to go here one day.

Looking like a good line up again, Haken and Anathema(I believe), again!  :metal

Anathema was there last year. They played after Dream Theater on the second day and didn't disappoint at all. They won't be returning this year though. I don't know where you got that, but I put the whole line-up in the OP.

My mistake. I read a post on Hakens facebook page saying they were looking forward to sharing the stage with them again but its a different show/venue. Its been a long day.

Been to that festival a couple of times - and loved it every single time! The location is fantastic (pics can be found here: https://community.webshots.com/user/ich_bin_besser). This, along with meeting friends, having fun and too many beers - doesn't get much better.

Can't make it this year, though, as I'll be hiking in the Dolomites (this is one place where I'll be staying at: https://www.diewanderer.it/panorama/20090830-DreiZinnen_2.html.
Keep prog alive - see it live!

This is what waking up late after a bout of insomnia and not having had my coffee yet does to me: I kept wondering who the band "End" was and why they were headlining over Saga and Steve Hackett.  :lol

Nice line up though. Shame I'm nowhere near it, I'd totally go.
