Pikachu sucks as a Pokemon, and he is not powerful enough to subjugate the world. So rather than being awesome running about with a Pikachu that will zap people in your way or attract girls, you'll probably just get it confiscated by the government.

Give me a Mewtwo (or in fact any good Pokemon) and it might be a different story.

While a pikachu may not be able to take down anything, they have been seen taking down beasts such as Drogonite.
