I just beat Super Metroid at 100% item completion. That game is my favorite, nostalgia or not. It really is a fine game. I could go on about how I love the atmosphere of it, etc., but was wondering what DTF's favorite SNES game is.

Megaman X. Second is Megaman X3. After that Earthbound and Super Mario Land are duking it out. Final Fantasy IV was pretty good as well.

Bubble Bobble
Super Street Fighter 2 (I remember playing this and the obvious way to play, but I can't really remember it specifically)

I feel like I am missing some games though.

I only played Super Metroid recently, somehow I missed it back during the original SNES period. Amazing game, but some spots I struggled, and *gasp* had to look online to get through.

Link to the Past would be my #1 game, and one of my top 5 console games of all time.

Until you master wall-jumping in that game, it is a bitch. But once you do, you can do so much (and I recently watched someone do a 100% walkthrough on youtube and they used wall-jumping to do a lot of things faster and easier).

...or you could be like a roommate of mine from university, make me do the wall jump sections whenever you get to them. Man, he was good at games, but wall jumping kicked his ass so badly it was hard not to laugh.

When I think about it, the wall-jumping in that game was somewhat ingenious. It is so awkward to master, though not hard at all once you really grasp the order of the buttons to press. But you can do it from the get-go, which can make the game easier for you!

Chrono Trigger is by far my favourite SNES game. With all the praise it, and the sequel still get today, I'm surprised they haven't made another, I think there were plans for another but it got scrapped.

Of course I gotta mention some other top SNES games:

I adore Mario Paint, SMW, Megamans X1 and 2 (Not X3, though), Beavis and Butthead, and F-Zero, among other things.

Lately, I've been turned onto Final Fantasy IV and love it! Will try out V and VI ASAP. Also Super Metroid, because I've never played a Metroid and need to wash myself of my wrongdoing.

I could not possibly choose.

It's interesting to think that with the thousands upon thousands of video games that come out now, back then anytime a new game was released, you knew the odds were good of it being at least decent. Not that less "good" games come out now (I wouldn't be an authority anymore), just that the ratio was much better when the market was smaller.
