i only got into Redemption half a year ago by discovering Snowfall (through this forum)...this album DOES rival the heavyweights in "traditional prog metal". (and i too was slightly disappointed by their new one...though i'm wearing the shirt right now).

Paradise Lost can't suck, cuz, you know, it's Symphony X...haters gonna hate. miss out on the awesomeness.

Well, two fairly allright albums to sart it off, while I DO admit that I was a huge fan of Paradise Lost when it was first released. I never listen to it anymore though, I think I can see the flaws now.
Hey dude slow the fuck down so we can finish together at the same time.

Plus, see my sig.

But let's all be honest, it wouldn't be Nick without a fail or two along the way.

Thanks for for helping me prove my point about Propane Boy  :lol

I'd say at least Nick is getting the fail out of the way early, but we all know that won't happen.

Don't you and Nick have very similar tastes in music? :lol

I don't hate PL, rating it in SX's entire catalogue is kinda like saying it finished 7th in the Miss America pageant.

Nick and I seem to like a lot of the same bands, but we often differ on which albums and songs we think are their best.  I like SyX a lot and plan to see them in March, I just think Paradise Lost is rivals their debut album as their worst, and the song Iconoclast is the only thing keeping that album from being as boring as Paradise Lost.

But, but When All Is Lost!

Iconoclast would be a better album if this was the track list... Whoa, it's like I've done this already:

1. Iconoclast
2. The End of Innocence
3. Dehumanized
4. Bastards of the Machine
5. When All Is Lost
6. Electric Messiah
7. Prometheus (I Am Alive)
8. Light Up The Night
9. Reign in Madness

And Paradise Lost doesn't get much play from me anymore, but it has good songs on it.

Yeah, this is the first list I'm going to actively follow and am actually interested in. Does Nick have this shit all typed up already and is created suspense or is everyone who does these lists just slow?

I've been contemplating making a "top whatever list". Would anyone follow it? I know I'm known for having such excellent taste. :\

Go into the top 50 tracker thread and put your name down for a list.  From what I know of you Zook, I really like your taste in music, so I'd definitely be interested.

I'm still thinking about. I don't even know what my all time favorite album is yet :lol I never really thought about it. I certainly have a bunch a favorites... Eh, the list is pretty long, I'll put my name down.

How 'bout that Iced Earth survivor I started? I'd like to get that going again someday. Hopefully I don't lose my internet like last time...

would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Definitely interested in doing the IE survivor again soon.  Getting 50 albums is tough, but I think that's the challenge and excitement of it.

48. Boston - Boston

No classic rock band has come out with a debut as strong as the self-titled juggernaut from Boston. Despite taking their time on their other releases the band has never topped their near perfect starting record. A majority of the tracks are radio staples, and yet all those tracks are fantastic songs, a quality rarely seen on hit heavy records. Lots of amazing melodies, great guitar solos, and an overall fantastic feel good record.

Favorite tracks: Foreplay/Longtime, Peace of Mind, More Than a Feeling.

Honorable Mention: Rush - Permanent Waves

47. Evergrey - Recreation Day

There isn't much I can say about this album that I can't say about several Evergrey albums. A very strong emotional and melodic performance delivered in a way that only Evergrey does. Powered by Tom Englund's unique voice, at least to this type of music Evergrey have certainly found a way to define themselves within the greater progressive-metal world. I don't think this album has many of Evergrey's top songs, however it may very well be their most consistent.

Favorite songs: Recreation Day, Blinded, As I Lie Here Bleeding
